People of Sheikh Maqsoud: We should not be punished by blockade

Residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo denounced the siege by the Damascus government which they described as immoral.

Damascus government continues to impose a suffocating siege on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo, by preventing the entry of basic materials, fuel and medicines to them, for 9 months, without caring about the difficulties and challenges that the people suffer from on a daily basis.

The citizen, Walid Bakr, described the siege imposed by the Damascus government as immoral and inhuman, and said: "A person needs ingredients to live, and he should not be deprived of these ingredients, which are the basis for the continuation of life."

Bakr pointed out that the siege imposed on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods does not serve the people and their interests, and he said: "We are an integral part of Syria. We fought everyone who tried to occupy our lands. the people of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, should not be rewarded by a siege for what we have done."

Bakr denounced the siege imposed on the two neighborhoods, and said: "We are not strangers to Syria, we are its people, and the Damascus government must abandon these policies and lift the siege imposed on us, so that we can live in peace."

As for the citizen, Aisha Abdo, a resident of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, she indicated that the blockade has repercussions on our daily lives, including all aspects, including cutting off the necessary materials from the two neighborhoods, such as diesel fuel and others.

Aisha explained that the blockade causes suffering to the people, and she said: "We are Syrian citizens, and we have the right to enjoy life as others, and this is one of our most basic rights, but we are deprived of it because of the blockade imposed on us."

She added, "We call for the brotherhood of peoples, and we do not differentiate between anyone, but why does the Damascus government create differences, impose a siege on us, and rob us of our rights?"

Jihan Abdo, a resident of the Ashrafieh neighborhood of Aleppo said, "We are deprived of the necessities of life, and as one of the components of Syria, we do not accept this siege, and basic materials must be brought into the two neighborhoods urgently."

In turn, Khadija Murad, a displaced woman from Afrin and a resident of the Ashrafieh neighborhood, referred to their suffering by saying: "It has reduced the number of electricity hours to only two hours. We do not know what we will do during these two hours.
