​​​​​​​​​​​​​KCK calls for preventing KDP from handing over activist Azime Arsun to Turkish authorities

The Kurdistan Democratic Party' forces had kidnapped Kurdish political activist Azime Arsun at Hewler International Airport, before she left the airport for treatment in Europe, on May 2.

In response to this, the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Community Union issued today, a statement to the world's opinion, in which it called on all "women's organizations to prevent the Kurdistan Democratic Party from handing over Azime Arsun to the Turkish state. that reads:

“We are passing an important historical turning point that may lead to the defeat of Erdogan's fascism. Allied with anti-Kurdish and collaborative forces, the fascist AKP-MHP regime, which has committed genocide against our people, continues its attacks without interruption. The resistance of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, our people and freedom guerrillas are bringing the fascist regime on the verge of destruction.

Under such circumstances, we learned that our seriously ill friend Azime Arsun, who took part in the freedom struggle of our people, was detained at Hewlêr airport. Our friend Azime was taken into custody at Hewler airport as she was departing for her treatment abroad. In a short time, she was kidnapped by the KDP-Parastin and taken to an unknown place. There is information that our friend was detained and kidnapped by the Parastin and handed over to the Turkish intelligence service MIT. However, we have not been able to obtain any concrete information on the issue. Nevertheless, it is certain that our comrade Arsun was kidnapped by the collaborator Parastin without any official record. Therefore, there is a risk that our friend, who has severe heart disease, will be handed over to the Turkish state.

It is a shame that the KDP detains a revolutionary Kurdish woman and tries to use her for its dirty relations with the Turkish Republic. The KDP and the Parastin are responsible for the disappearance of our friend Arsun.

Therefore, we call on all Kurdish public opinion and women's organizations to take action to learn the fate of our friend Arsun and to prevent the KDP from delivering her to the Turkish Republic in support of the fascist Erdogan's election campaign."
