Celebrations of International Workers' Day kick off in NE Syria

On the occasion of International Workers' Day, which falls on May 1, the Democratic Society Movement (TEV DEM) organized today, in separate regions of NE Syria, activities to celebrate International Workers' Day.

Celebrations for this year's occasion were centrally organized in Jazera region, Manbij, Al-Shahba, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor. Since early morning, the workers, accompanied by their families, representatives of the Autonomous Administration, political parties and civil society institutions went to the squares designated for the celebration.

The celebration of the central Qamishlo canton was organized by the Mezkift Dam in the district of Tirbspiya, Al-Hasakah canton in the village of Gul Bustan, and the people of Manbij and its countryside celebrate in the garage of the People’s Municipality, and in Afrin and Al-Shahba cantons in Sardam camp in Al-Ahdath sub-district of Al-Shahbaa, while the people of Deir Ezzor celebrate in Seven kilometer area.

Pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan, flags of the Democratic Society Movement, colorful ribbons expressing the colors of spring, and flags of civil society organizations and the Union of Hard Workers were hung in the celebration squares.

The celebration activities are scheduled to include speeches by the Democratic Society Movement (TEV DEM), a number of civil society institutions, and the Union of Workers and Toilers, in addition to singing performances and folklore dances.

It is scheduled that the residents of the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods in Aleppo will celebrate International Labor Day, in the cemeteries square in the eastern part of the neighborhood, at 17:00.
