​​​​​​​Delegation from AANES meets with French Senate

On March 24, 2023, a delegation from AANES visited the French Senate.

The delegation included the co-chair of the Department of External Relations, Badran Çia Kurd, the representative of the Autonomous Administration in Europe, Abdul Karim Omar, the spokeswoman for the Women's Protection Units, Roxanne Muhammad, and the spokesperson of YPJ, YPG's spokesperson Nuri Mahmoud, and the representative of the Autonomous Administration in France, Khaled Issa.

According to the website of AANES, the delegation met with the French Senate deputy, Pierre Laurent, in the Senate building in the French capital, Paris.

The meeting dealt with the general situation in NE Syria, and the most prominent challenges after12 years of the crisis, without any prospects for political solution.

According to the same source, the two sides exchanged views on the political, economic, humanitarian and security challenges facing the Autonomous Administration, in addition to the Turkish its gangs threats and attacks that destabilize the region.

The two sides discussed the crimes taking place in the occupied areas, including killings, arrests, and demographic changes by mercenaries allied with Turkey, especially the execution of four people from one family on the eve of Newroz. It was emphasized that France and the international community should assume its responsibilities towards these files.

For his part, Pierre Laurent affirmed their appreciation and appreciation for the sacrifices made by the people of NE Syria against the mercenaries, and offered condolences to the victims of earthquake and Janders massacre.

He reaffirmed their support for the Autonomous Administration and the need to strengthen and develop cooperation between the Autonomous Administration and France to confront (terrorism) and to find a peaceful and democratic solution to the crisis in Syria.
