Damascus govt stipulates seizing 75 percent of the aid of Sulaymaniya people for those affected by earthquake

The Damascus government stipulated seizing 75% of the aid coming from Sulaymaniya, in return for allowing the passage of the remaining 25%, to the earthquake-affected in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo and Afrin and Shahba cantons, so that the percentage of its seizure of aid increased compared to the aid that crossed on February 15.

For 6 days, the Damascus government has prevented the crossing of humanitarian aid coming from Sulaymaniya to the earthquake-affected in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo, Afrin and Shahba cantons, through the al-Tayha crossing separating the city of Manbij and the areas of the Damascus government, according to a member of the Crisis Cell and the co-chair of the Media Department in AANES, Jiwan Malla Ibrahim.

According of sources to ANHA agency, the Damascus government stipulated seizing 75% of this aid in return for allowing the remaining 25% to pass to the earthquake-affected people.

The aid includes 25 trucks of humanitarian and relief aid.

And AANES announced, through an official statement, last Tuesday (March 7), that it had received 25 trucks of aid collected by the people of Sulaymaniya for the people affected by the earthquake, within the framework of the "Niwasikum" campaign.

The trucks entered NE Syria on Monday (March 6) and set off for the Al-Tayha crossing, but they are still parked at the crossing; because the Damascus government prevent passing it.

The Damascus government had seized 50% of the aid that the AANES sent to the affected people in the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh and Shahba neighborhoods in Aleppo, consisting of 100 tanks of oil derivatives, on February 15, after it stopped at the crossing for the same reasons for 9 days.
