On 19th anniversary of March 12, TEV-DEM calls on Damascus government to accept the will of NES people

On 19th anniversary of the massacre that turned into the March 12 uprising in the city of Qamishlo, the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) issued a statement to the public opinion, in which it recalled the martyrs of the uprising.

In its statement, the movement referred to the chauvinistic regime's policies against the Kurds, and stressed that what happened proved the extent of the influence and surrender of the chauvinist regime to Turkish fascism under the Adana Agreement.

"In commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the Qamishlo uprising, we bow in honor of the martyrs of the uprising and all the martyrs of the revolution in north and east Syria.

The massive people uprising in March 2004, which sparked from the city of Qamishlo and spread to the cities of Rojava and the major cities of Syria, came like a storm in the face of the chauvinistic Baathist regime.

It was a planned and organized conspiracy, which came within the context of the international conspiracy policies represented by the Adana Agreement, which is considered one of the most important results of the dangerous international conspiracy, It was based on the policy of annihilating the Kurds by dragging the Kurdish people into a bloody conflict and political games; To sow discord between authentic historical societal cultures, and to strike the Kurdish-Arab relations and the social and cultural relations with the rest of the Syrian components only to pass their dirty political aims on the will of the region' peoples.

During that period, the Damascus government escalated its hostile policies against our Kurdish people in general, in accordance with the terms of the agreement that stipulate fighting the aspirations of the Kurdish people towards free societal will with moral and political thought and sexual liberation.

But the will of our people and their patriotic stances confronted the repressive machine of the security services in all its branches heroically and with resistance, despite the fact that thousands of patriots were subjected to security and arbitrary arrests and tried in state and military security courts to be held accountable without guilt just because they are Kurds; And with the passage of these policies against the will of our Kurdish people, open a new page in building Turkish-Syrian relations based on annihilating the cultural and moral values ​​of our people to a very high level, through which the Turkish occupation state invaded Syria economically, politically, and security and took control of many Syrian commercial and industrial markets; With the aim of imposing the fascist Turkish mental culture on the creative Syrian societal culturess.

Exploiting the sports match between the Al-Jihad and Al-Fatwa teams was the largest conspiratorial political means that was planned in advance in the circles of Turkish private war policies; To weaken the patriotic feeling and the organizational structure of our people, which is built on democratic societal foundations and standards, which protects the national values, and to liquidate the patriotic and democratic powers aligned with the will of our people.

The uprising of March 12, 2004 revealed the extent of the chauvinistic and racist spirit of the Baathist mentality towards the Kurds and the rest of the components in Syria, and the extent of the influence and surrender of the will of this chauvinist regime to Turkish fascism under the Adana Agreement.

We in the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) see that the Syrian situation is getting worse; As a result of the large and complex political vacuum, and the prolongation of the crisis means a real humanitarian catastrophe; As a result of the deterioration of the economic situation on a daily basis, the Syrian problem is internal and its solution lies within Syria and not in the revival of the Adana agreement with the Turkish occupier and its terrorist government.

We also promise the martyrs of the March 12 massacre and uprising and all the martyrs of freedom to follow in their footsteps and raise the pace of our struggle and resistance as the components of Syria against the Turkish occupation of our regions, and the Syrian regime must approach realism towards reality in order to save what is left in Syria from potential political and national disasters. It must change its approach towards building a democratic system and accepting the will of the free peoples in Syria.
