Dozens killed, injured in landmine explosion western countryside of Deir Ezzor

Dozens of people were killed and injured when a truck carrying them exploded while they were on their way to collect "truffle" mushrooms in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

An agency affiliated with the Damascus government reported, "Five citizens were killed and more than 40 were injured when a mine left behind by ISIS terrorists exploded in the truck they were carrying while they were on their way to collect truffles in the Kabajib area in the southwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor."

For its part, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 8 people were killed and more than 35 others were injured of varying degrees in a mine explosion in a truck that was carrying them while they were on their way to collect "truffle" mushrooms in the Kabaj area in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Thus, the number of those documented by the Observatory has increased since the beginning of this year. As a result of the explosion of mines left over from the war in Syria, 57 people died, including two women and 18 children, in addition to the injury of 118 people.
