​​​​​​​ Residents of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh demands PDK to deliver aid to them

 In addition to the unjust siege imposed by the Damascus government on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, the PDK prevents aid coming from Başûr through the Semalka crossing, which increases their suffering.

 The earthquake that struck Bakur Kurdistan and Turkey, and affected areas of northern Syria, caused thousands of people to lose their lives, in addition to massive material damage to their properties. As for the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, the share of the earthquake’s repercussions was the largest due to the obstruction of aid access to them.

 The people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods affected by the earthquake called on the PDK to allow aid sent by the people of Başûr and the Kurdistan Red Crescent, including medicines, infant formula, tents and other life necessities, as soon as they need it.

 Aid is necessary

 Citizen Nadia Imo, who left her house after the earthquake, said, "The earthquake made our homes unsafe for housing, and we need aid to manage our affairs."

 And she continued, "Our people in Başûr took the initiative to collect aid to send it to us as support, but the Kurdistan Democratic Party prevents its passage to the regions of Rojava through the Semalka crossing."

 Nadia explained that she has young children and needs formula, which is missing in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh as a result of the siege imposed by the Damascus government on it.

 The suffering is doubled

 As for the citizen, Awash Muhammad, she said, "The earthquake caused great material damage to the  two neighborhoods. Some of them lost their lives, and many homes have become uninhabitable. Aid is necessary at such a difficult time."

 Awash indicated that the PDK prevents the aid from entering the neighborhoods, which doubles the suffering of the people.

 And she continued her speech, "In this critical situation, we need relief and food materials. We ask the Kurdistan Democratic Party to allow aid to be sent to us."

 Preventing the arrival of aid is a bigger disaster

 As for the citizen, Fatima Muhammad, she noted that the young and old in the neighborhoods lack the necessities of life after the earthquake.

 "The aid was collected for us, but the authorities prevent it from us, despite our need for that aid, and the PDK is responsible for that," she added.
