In 2017, ISIS mercenaries moved the bakery equipment to their areas of occupation in Raqqa and Deir al-Zor, and with the arrival of the Syrian Democratic Forces to the city of Tabqa to liberate it, the mercenaries completely blew up the bakery.

With the aim of securing bread for the people of Tabqa city and its countryside, the Economic Committee of the Democratic Civil Administration in Tabqa worked to rebuild the bakery.

The administrator in the Economy Committee, Ahmed Al-Salem, said: "After the destruction of the infrastructure in Tabqa, including the automated oven, the Bakeries Directorate of the Economy Committee began to rehabilitate it."

Al-Salem indicated, "Production operations began on February 16, and the bakery operates 12 hours, from 2 pm, with two production lines equipped with modern machines, and the number of workers is 18 workers."

The Directorate of Bakeries and Mills in Tabqa had allocated 10 tons of flour for the automatic bakery on a daily basis.

Al-Salem said, "The price of the bundle, which includes 9 loaves, is 285 SP, and it reaches the people at a price of 325 SP, due to the transportation fees."
