People of Qamishlo criticize position of PDK for closing of Faysh Khabour to aid

 The Kurdish Red Crescent revealed in a statement last Wednesday that the Faysh Khabur crossing (opposite to the Semalka crossing in Rojava), which is controlled by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK), prevents the crossing of humanitarian aid provided to the Red Crescent to deliver it to the affected areas.

The co-chair of the Kurdish Red Crescent, Eva Ali, said in a previous interview with our agency, that "without explaining the reasons, the administration of the Faysh Khabur crossing is preventing the crossing of aid to northern and eastern Syria," provided by the partners of the Kurdish Red Crescent abroad, and by some popular initiatives in  Başûr and Europe, initiatives of national figures, and some jealous Kurds.

 In this regard, our agency monitored the reactions of the people of Qamishlo.

 The Arab citizen, Mahmoud Hussein, called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party to open the border crossing for relief cases and humanitarian aid, and said: "The region is going through a critical situation, as a result of the earthquake and the destruction that befell it."

He added: "They should (referring to the Kurdistan Democratic Party) move away from these hostile policies, as they do not serve humanitarian interests, but on the contrary serve Turkish interests and politics," addressing the party's authorities by saying: "Border crossings must be opened to humanitarian aid and personal accounts set aside."

 'The crossings do not close their doors to humanitarian cases'

 As for the Kurdish citizen, Radwan Rashid Khalaf, he referred to the region's need for aid "which the Kurdistan Democratic Party seized at the Faysh Khabour crossing." He said: "All regions are still suffering from the earthquake disaster. They are in dire need of relief aid."

 He continued, "The crossings do not close their doors to humanitarian cases, unless those in charge of them are devoid of a sense of humanity and responsibility, and that opening Fish-Khabour will mitigate the repercussions of this earthquake on the affected areas, especially the most affected ones, such as Afrin, Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods."

 Khalaf called for the KDP to deal with humanity, and said: "This is the most correct thing in this difficult ordeal."

 For her part, the displaced citizen from Afrin and residing in the city of Qamishlo, Fahima Musa, criticized the Kurdistan Democratic Party for its "hostile actions, becoming more intense day after day towards northern and eastern Syria, the last of which is the closure of the crossing in front of aid.”

 At the end of her speech, Fahima demanded that all crossings be opened to humanitarian cases and not contribute to "killing humanity and clamping down on it."

 'A crime more serious than the earthquake itself'

 Meanwhile, the citizen Abdul Salam Abdul Rahman considered the closure of the Faysh Khabur crossing by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, "a crime against all of us, and it affects us negatively, depriving thousands of those in need of that aid, and this constitutes a danger more than the earthquake itself."

 Abdul Rahman noted, "We know that the Turkish occupation state is the enemy of the Kurdish people. We are not surprised at the crimes and violations it commits against the region and its components, as well as from the Damascus government. As for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, by closing Fish Khabour, despite knowing the repercussions of this on the people of the region, it confirms and documents its strong relationship with  The occupying state and his doing what it orders him to do, and his listening and obedience only to Turkey.
