AANES calls for the Turkish occupation to be held accountable for its recent attack

This came through a statement by the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Berivan Khaled, to ANHA’s agency, commenting on the recent air attack of the Turkish occupation, Wednesday, on a car in Qamishlo canton.

A drone of the Turkish occupation state targeted a car on the road linking Qamishlo - Tirbespiyê, near the village of Bouira, east of the city of Qamishlo.

This attack led to the loss of a citizen's life and the injury of another, thus being the second targeting that occurred after the February 6 earthquake, at a time when everyone was preoccupied with providing relief to the victims of the earthquake that struck Turkey and affected large areas of Syria.

"Unethical" by all accounts

Berivan Khaled said, "This targeting is not the first of its kind, as it was preceded by other similar attacks and attacks during the past week, which are attacks that can be said the least as "immoral" by all standards, as they come at a time when the entire world is preoccupied with the catastrophe of the earthquake that destroyed large parts in Turkey and Syria and claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people.

Noting that the Turkish occupation continues to bomb and target north-eastern Syria, despite the catastrophe that befell it.

Indicating that the recent attack is nothing but a new confirmation of "the brutality and chauvinism of the Turkish regime, and an attempt by it to deliver a message that it is continuing its aggressive approach against the region."

It calls for a serious international stance

She added, "The Turkish targets at this particular time clearly indicate that the Erdogan regime did not and will not care about any moral or humanitarian principle, and that the destruction and losses that Turkey suffered as a result of the earthquake do not mean anything to this regime, as much as it means to it its continued occupation and killing and destabilization in the region.

The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria AANES noted that what the Turkish occupation state is committing should be the focus of international attention and be held accountable for it, explaining by saying, "The attacks and crimes committed by the Erdogan regime in this period specifically against the regions of north-eastern Syria, which have mobilized their energies to collect donations and aid to the affected areas should be the focus of international attention, and require condemnation and a serious and strict international stance towards the practices of this fascist regime.

"A natural disaster will not prevent the Turkish regime from committing crimes"

Berivan Khaled concluded her speech by saying, "We, in North and East Syria, never expected that this regime would stop targeting our regions, (..) the Syrian regime that made its country a large prison for its opponents, a passage for terrorism and terrorists to Syria and the world, and a source of destabilizing security and stability in Syria region, a natural disaster will not prevent it from continuing its criminal career against the peoples of the region.”
