​​​​​​​AANES pulls out relief aid allocated to NW Syria

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria made a statement from the Um Al-Jaloud crossing between the city of Manbij and the occupied Jarabulus region, announcing the withdrawal of its aid.

The statement was read by the co-chair of the General Administration of Fuels and the member of the Crisis Cell in the Autonomous Administration, Sadiq al-Khalaf.

The statement stated:  "Since the beginning of the disaster that befell the region as a result of the recent earthquake that struck areas of Turkey and Syria, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has clarified its position regarding providing the necessary support and assistance within its capabilities to the affected areas and the people, based on humanitarian, moral principles, and patriotism, as well as considering that the catastrophe a real test of our moral obligations in such human suffering, and accordingly the Autonomous Administration prepared the aid convoy of oil derivatives and medical and relief materials to be presented to the affected people, but unfortunately, the relief convoys are still on the crossings, and after intensive efforts, the convoys of popular initiatives that took place were passed with the support of the Autonomous Administration directly, but Turkish occupation and its mercenaries prevented entry of oil derivatives.

The statement added: "Therefore, while we in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria affirm that these positions are incorrect and increase the suffering under political items and positions that we reject, so after more than 7 days have passed since obstructing the arrival of our support to those affected, we will withdraw the materials that were at the Umm Jaloud crossing, due to the insistence of Turkey and its mercenaries to link this issue to political issues and positions at the expense of the victims and the affected people.

The statement  was concluded by saying: "We make it clear to all the Syrian people that we are part of this country and we share the Syrian people's plight in any geographical area in Syria, as we are concerned with serving our people in Syria as a whole. We also call on all institutions of UN to open all the crossings to ensure the delivery of the necessary aid to those affected by this disaster."
