​​​​​​​Popular Initiative calls NE Syria's people to take part in protest of February 15th

On Monday, the Popular Initiative of the Jazera region made a statement to the public opinion, denouncing the international conspiracy against the leader Ocalan, in the presence of civil institutions and political parties in Qamishlo Canton.

The statement was read by the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yusra Darwish in Kurdish, and the co-chair of Tal Hamis district, Muhammad al-Shammari in Arabic, at the martyr Haitham Kicho stadium in the city of Qamishlo.

The Initiative recalled all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives under the slogan "You will not block our sun" with honor and respect, as it saluted the unparalleled modern and historical resistance of leader Ocalan. It pledged to work and escalate the struggle, until this "heinous plot that was committed against us" is thwarted.

It added, "The plot targeted the will of the Kurdish people and their aspiration to live in freedom and dignity, where its aim was submission of our people and leave them in a life of humiliation and slavery."

The Initiative indicated that "despite the passage of 24 years since the plot, the powers behind it have not dispensed with their dirty plans against our people."

 "Imprisonment of Leader Ocalan, and the strict isolation against him, have disregarded all human rights laws."

It noted that "the chemical attack targeting freedom fighters, the siege imposed on our people, and the international silence towards the war declared by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people confirm that the conspiracy is still going on in full swing."

"Let the whole world know that the torture system in Imrali is a flagrant violation of all humanitarian laws, and against the Kurdish people and all peoples who have declared more than once that Leader represents their will," the Initiative stressed.

It also affirmed that this unjust regime violates all international principles and conventions of the United Nations.

The Initiative called on democratic forces and advocates for human rights all over the world to stand against this special policy and the unjust law applied in Imrali prison, and the need for the Anti-Torture Organization (CPT) to do its duty, and declare its position regarding what is happening in Imrali in terms of abuse and torture.

It also called on the people of NE Syria to participate in the protest event that will be organized on February 15th.

And the initiative stated in its statement, "We reject an imperial regime, demand the freedom of leader Ocalan, and raise our voice in the face of the conspirators who target the future of our region by imposing war and chaos through their dirty plans, and we call on the Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Turkmens, Circassians, and every yearning for freedom and democracy to participate in the march of dignity, which will take place under the slogan "With the will of the people, we will eliminate the imperial regime."
