TEV-DEM calls on Damascus govt not to politicize humanitarian issues

The Damascus government does not allow two convoys of aid prepared by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to pass through the al-Tayha crossing in Manbij to the affected areas in Aleppo.

The Democratic Society Movement condemned the behavior of the Damascus government, and said: "The Damascus government is still politicizing it at the expense of the victims and the afflicted, without moving to provide any significant assistance."

The statement stated, "Creative societal emotional feelings are always affected by the consequences of painful natural events and disasters in which society, nature and cities are exposed to these disasters as a result of the devastating earthquake and successive aftershocks."

TEV-DEM said that, despite the appeals, the Damascus government is politicizing aid at the expense of the victims and the afflicted.

It added, "The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria took the initiative to organize the dispatch of humanitarian aid, consisting of convoys loaded with fuel, to the stricken areas in Aleppo, besieged Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and al-Shahba canton.

Despite the catastrophic situation, the Damascus government blocks  crossings in the face of aid provided to the Syrian people.

TEV-DEM called on the international forces and all civil and international organizations, foremost among them the United Nations to put pressure on the Damascus government in order to open all crossings and allow the delivery of aid to impacted areas.
