AANES launches campaign to help earthquake victims

This came during a verbal statement by the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the Jazera  region, which called on the people of the Jazera  region to show solidarity with the earthquake victims in the regions of NE Syria, Syria and Bakur (northern Kurdistan).

The statement was made at the March 12 Martyrs' Stadium in Qamishlo, by the co-chair of the Legislative Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the Jazera  region, Hikmat Habib, in Arabic and the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yusra Darwish, in the Kurdish language, in the presence of the co-presidency of the Executive and Legislative Council.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration in Jazera  region announced its campaign under the slogan "Together for Humanity", which will continue until February 20, in order to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquake in NE Syria, Syria and Bakur Kurdistan.

The Autonomous Administration stated that "the regions of Syria in general and Bakur Kurdistan were subjected to a humanitarian catastrophe, which required all of us in the Autonomous Administration in the Jazira region and all its components to carry out this campaign."

It called on citizens to show solidarity with "this humanitarian catastrophe", and offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.

It indicated, "All our people should go to the tents in the towns and districts in order to provide assistance within the possible capabilities."

On Wednesday, the Administrative Board of the Syrian Federation for Human Rights sent an urgent humanitarian appeal to the United Nations bodies, the permanent states in the Security Council, the international and regional bodies concerned with human rights, the Red Cross and Red Crescent; During which it called for rapid intervention to help the people of Syria who were affected by the earthquake.
