​​​​​​​Arab experts call on France to remove suspicions of complicity in 2nd Paris massacre

 Arab experts and researchers have warned of the scenario of the second Paris massacre, in which 3 Kurdish activists were martyred late last month.

 On December 23, the French capital, Paris, witnessed a shooting in the vicinity of the Kurdish Cultural Center, which led to the death of 3 people, including the leader of the Kurdish women's movement in France, Amina Kara, and two people, one of whom was the artist and political refugee, Mir Perwer, and the injury of others.

 According to the media, the accused had previously stabbed a person in 2016, and stabbed two Sudanese in 2021, and after his release from prison;  Carry out a shooting incident against the Kurds.

 France's failure to adopt the hypothesis of the terrorist motive from the outset raised anger and questions, especially since the man confessed to targeting the victims and that he initially intended to "assassinate immigrants" in a town north of the capital, where a large number of residents of foreign origin reside;  This is motivated by "pathological hatred", according to the media.

The decision of the French authorities to lift the preventive detention of the person involved in the accident, and to transfer him to the psychiatric clinic at the police headquarters, also raised questions about the French role in the crime.

 According to experts, the lack of strong action by the French authorities towards racist speech and hate preachers from the far-right supporters will prompt a repetition of the Paris massacre, whether against the Kurds in France or other communities.

 The Egyptian writer and political analyst, Ibrahim Shaaban, demanded that the crime that affected a Kurdish cultural center and a nearby Kurdish cafe in the heart of the French capital, Paris, which resulted in the killing of 3 and the injury of 3 others, be considered a first-degree racist terrorist crime, and to deal with it from this standpoint and publish investigations on a wide scale inside and outside France.

 Shaaban said in statements to our agency, that it is a blatant and racist terrorist crime, without any justification on the part of an armed "terrorist", a member of a shooting sports club and a retired train driver, according to information announced by the French Ministry of Interior.

 Ibrahim Shaaban warned against complacency with the crime of racist targeting of the Kurds in the heart of Paris, without accountability and without extensive research on the reasons behind this crime, especially since it came days before the anniversary of a similar incident that took place in Paris in 2013, and resulted in the killing of 3 leaders of the Kurdish women's movement.

  Shaaban expressed his deep regret over the incident, saying that French President Macron's expression of regret over the incident, and the US Secretary of State's denunciation, Blinken, is not a cure for the problem.  This is not an individual crime, but a racist terrorist crime committed by a French gunman against innocent Kurds whom he does not know.

 Provide protection for the Kurds

 Shaaban explained that protection must be provided for the Kurdish community in Paris on the one hand, and all media and human rights platforms should be made available to introduce the Kurdish issue on the other hand, support the Kurdish people, and hold all those who committed massacres against them accountable over the past years.  Especially the Turkish regime, which is led by Erdogan, and considers the Kurdish people in northern Syria and Iraq to be its first enemy.

He continued, "The French action with the crime of targeting and killing three Kurds in the heart of Paris, with complete integrity and transparency, will ward off suspicions of complicity on the part of the Parisian authorities in the incident," noting his strong respect for Kurdish feelings and Kurdish anger after the unjustified barbaric incident.

 Shaaban concluded that the Kurdish issue is one of the political tragedies throughout the twentieth century.  The time has come to deal with it objectively and impartially, and to consider the cultural, artistic and civilizational heritage of the Kurdish people throughout history and his inherent right to life.

 For her part, the Algerian writer and researcher Nisreen Jaafar believes that France, in general, has adopted an official anti-immigrant discourse for years, pointing out that this discourse includes immigrants who are officially present on its territory, as well as its nationals of Middle Eastern origin.

 She told our agency: The biggest evidence of this targeting by France towards immigrants is the recent dispute between France and the Maghreb countries "Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco", where Paris tried to put pressure on these countries to take back immigrants, although a large segment of them was born in France and holds French nationalities.

She indicated that in September 2021, France halved the visas it granted to Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco due to the refusal of Maghreb countries to receive their immigrants, pointing out that it is not strange for France to take hostile positions against immigrants, especially with the rise of the far right.

 According to the Algerian researcher, if the perpetrator of the Paris incident had been a Muslim or had a Middle Eastern nationality, the French authorities would have dealt with him completely differently, harsh measures would have been taken against all immigrants, and the issue would have taken on an international dimension.

 According to Nisreen, racist discourse against immigrants can encourage extremists to commit criminal acts against foreigners, especially Moroccans and those coming from the Middle East, and condoning them and not holding the perpetrators accountable will encourage more of them.
