Rehan Loqo condemns target mother of five children by Turkish occupation

Member of the Kongra Star, Rehan Loqo, decried the Turkish attack that caused death of a mother, and stressed that this crimes will not discourage women's movements from continuing their struggle.

On December 24, 2022, a Turkish occupation drone targeted a poultry farm on the road to the village of Mazkaft in the eastern countryside of Tirbe Spi district of Qamishlo canton. As a result, a girl and 3 female poultry workers, who are from two families working on the farm were wounded.

Thawra Matar, a mother of five children, who came from the village of Haman in the countryside of Tirbe Spi district, died on Tuesday (January 3) of her wounds, despite the doctors' attempts.

Commenting on this, the member of the Kongra Star Coordination Committee, Rehan Logo, condemned the Turkish occupation attack on the poultry farm, and indicated that the attacks have not stopped since the beginning of the July 19 revolution, where these attacks primarily target women and the pioneers of the women’s revolution.

She noted that the Turkish occupation committed many massacres against the people of NE Syria, saying: "The Turkish occupation state targeted a learning center for girls in al-Hasakah canton, and targeted children in the al-Sina'a neighborhood in Qamishlo, and committed a massacre in Taql Baqel in Derik, and used chemical weapons against the people of Serêkaniyê in 2019." And recently, the citizen Matar, was martyred in a scene for which the forehead of humanity mourns.

Rehan criticized the silence of the international forces regarding what the Turkish occupation is committing against the people of NE Syria, and asked, "Was Matar or the her five children, a threat to Turkish national security? Why all this international silence regarding the Turkish crimes in the region?"

She said that whoever remains silent about these crimes is partner in it.

At the end of her speech, Rehan pledged to escalate the struggle and intensify the struggle as women's organizations in order to protect women's rights, and to expose the crimes of the Turkish occupation, stressing that the crimes of the Turkish occupation "will not deter us from continuing our struggle."
