Anger in Turkish parliament over the case of assaulting minor

Before a week, a woman in Turkey filed a complaint against her "ex-husband" and her parents, whom she accuses of forcibly marrying her off, when she was only 6 years old.

Turkish parliamentarians protested, Sunday night in the Turkish parliament, against ministers accusing them of negligence in the case of sexual abuse of a minor girl.

Turkish parliamentarians chanted, according to Firat News Agency said: "The child spoke, you kept silent", "but we will not be silent!", and "Resign!", and carried banners as Family Minister Derya Yaang delivered a speech in the Turkish parliament.

Many parliamentarians knocked on their seats and booed the minister, and they threw their banners while Sulayman Soylo spoke.

It is noteworthy that the 24-year-old woman whose father is an influential leader in a religious group, and her ex-husband was also a member of it.

The woman confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted since the age of six, according to the agency.

She filed her complaint in 2020; But, no one has yet been arrested in this case.
