K.Star condemns Turkish aerial bombardment and calls on the people to rise up against genocide

This came in a statement issued by Kongra Star Council, on Sunday, in response to the Turkish aerial bombardment of many areas in NE Syria and Southern Kurdistan, since Yesterday.

The Council condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the Turkish attacks that affected the regions of NE Syria, and said: "many areas in NE Syria and Southern Kurdistan were subjected to a brutal and barbaric systematic bombing by Turkish warplanes, in both Qandil in Southern Kurdistan, Shahba, Derik and the city of Kobani, which defeated the terrorist organization ISIS and was liberated thanks to the blood of thousands of its heroic sons, where these attacks resulted in the martyrdom and wounding of a number of citizens."

And added: "the attacks of the Turkish occupation state have been continuing on the people and areas of NE Syria since the beginning of the Rojava revolution and until the present time through drones and warplanes, in order to spread terror and fear in the hearts of the people of the region who adhere to their revolution and their rights."

And also stressed that these attacks are aimed at "striking stability, coinciding with the approaching Turkish presidential elections," noting that "these brutal attacks are committed by the Turkish state in full view of the whole world, and world countries remain silent about these practices and attacks.

"The Turkish state always wanted to exterminate the Kurds throughout history, it is attacking the Kurdish people and Kurdistan in all ways," the council said in its statement.

"As Kongra Star, we reject the continuation of these terrorist hostilities, which represent a flagrant violation of the norms of international and humanitarian law and pose a direct threat to security and stability," it said.

"We must go out to the squares for the uprising against the genocidal attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation state on all the territories of Kurdistan, targeting safe areas inhabited by civilians, in order to eliminate the Kurdish people and the gains achieved by the Rojava revolution," stressing that "these brutal crimes will not undermine the determination of the peoples of the region who are struggling to achieve their freedom and preserve their dignity, and will push the people to move forward in order to achieve the goals of their blessed revolution."

It also strongly condemned "the international forces that opened the airspace to the warplanes of the Turkish occupation state", and demanded "the international coalition and all Human Rights Bodies and humanitarian organizations to take steps against the repeated aggressions and crimes of the Turkish occupation, and impose a no-fly zone and close the airspace to Turkish airstrikes".

At the end of its statement, Kongra Star Council stressed "escalating the struggle until the failure of all Turkish plans; because resistance and struggle are the only solutions to live in peace" and vowed "we will make every effort to preserve the gains of our revolution, and we will defend our land with determination".
