Sheikhs and clans notables in Afrin territory call on SDF to liberty NES

 Dozens of sheikhs and notables of Arab and Kurdish clans in Afrin and al-Shahba cantons, as well as representatives of political parties, gathered in the Fafin district of al-Shahba canton.

 The meeting began with the discussion the latest developments in the region, the demographic change and the special war targeting all components in al-Shahba canton.

 This was followed by the formation of a board of directors for the sheikhs and dignitaries of the Arab and Kurdish clans for Afrin from the provinces of Shahba and Afrin, consisting of five notables.

And then the final statement of the meeting was read by the administrator of the Union of Intellectuals of Afrin, Ismat Hassan, in Kurdish, and Sheikh Miad Arslan in Arabic, and it said:

 "The Turkish state adopted hegemony under the AKP government under Erdogan's leadership to play a subversive role in the Middle East, especially Syria, putting peoples between two options, either radical Islam or nationalist fanaticism by supporting extremist Islamic movements from ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra. The Turkish state caused the biggest disaster for Syria and its people of various components."

 The statement continued, "The Syrian regime remained hostage to the security mentality and did not respond to the people's aspirations for freedom and to live in dignity, which opened the way for international forces to intervene, especially Turkey."

The statement pointed out that "the Turkish government's attempts to bring the Turkish government closer to the Syrian government are tactical in order to gain time and use that in the upcoming Turkish elections and legitimize the "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" organization, which represents al-Qaeda's branch in Syria.  In their statement, the participants demanded the launch of a "campaign led by the Syrian Democratic Forces to liberate northern and western Syria from these terrorist forces to build a democratic Syria according to an Arab-Kurdish agreement," calling on the people of al-Shahba and the displaced of Afrin to unite to confront the plans of the enemies of the Syrian people and to support efforts to liberate the occupied Syrian territories.
