During visit to shrine of martyrs.. European delegation: region lives instability due to Turkish threats

 This afternoon, a delegation from the European Parliament, headed by the representative of the Social Democratic Party in the European Parliament, Andreas Scheider, and the representative of the Green Party bloc in the European Parliament, Francois Alfonsi, visited the shrine of the martyr Dalil Sarukhan in the city of Qamishlo.

 The delegation was received by the Vice-President of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Robel Beho, and a member of the Administrative Board of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration, Gulistan Ali, and representatives of the Martyrs' Families Council in Qamishlo.

In a press statement, Baho, welcomed the delegation, saying: "The European parliamentarians wanted, to be their first visit to the shrine of the martyrs who sacrificed for the sake of  to live in safety, and to make our democratic project a success.

For his part, the representative of the Green Party bloc in the European Parliament, Francois Alfonsi, referred to the objectives of their visit to NES saying: "My colleague Andreas and I are here as members of the EP, we also fight like you for freedom, and believe that the struggle of the sake of freedom is the same everywhere, be it here or in Europe, and we will convey many messages about your struggle and wonderful fight in this region to our Parliament in Brussels.”

 In turn, the representative of the Social Democrats' bloc in the European Parliament, Andreas Schieder, stated, "Our goal in visiting the region is to express our solidarity with the people in Rojava, to see the situation here and also to express our respect and gratitude for your fight against terrorism. The struggle you are waging for your right to  Self-determination".

He added: "We are also here to see how things are going on. We know that the region is not stable because of the Turkish state, which always threatens to invade the region. We want to take a general idea about the region and women, minorities and all the sects and equality between  men, women and democracies are here."

 In turn, a member of the Council of Martyrs' Families in Qamishlo, Kaifo Othman, welcomed the European delegation and said: "We want to send our message to the international community, and to convey the voice of our martyrs. For dozens of times delegations from the European Parliament visited our regions and we always discussed with them the necessity of conveying the voice of the people of North and East  Syria".

 "This shrine includes martyrs from all components and civilians, soldiers and children who were martyred as a result of the Turkish occupation state's daily attacks on our areas," he stressed.

He added: "A few days ago, the Turkish occupation state bombed an Autonomous Administration institution in the city of Qamishlo through its drone, not to mention dozens of children who were martyred in these attacks, so we hope that you will take this issue seriously. We, the people of the region, fought for the European people and the world against ISIS, which no country has been able to fight."

 Osmann called for a close end of a No-fly  zone on the north and east of Syria to stop the attacks of the Turkish occupation of the Turkish occupation on the region, which is in front of the attention of international forces.
