AA of Shingal calls on the new Iraqi govt to cancel October 9 agreement

Roj News Agency said that the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Shingal held its meeting with the participation of all its members, in which it reviewed the latest developments and political conditions in the region, especially in Iraq.

After the meeting, the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Shingal, from the shrine of the martyrs Dalkash and Barkhdan, made a statement to the public opinion, which was read by member Nayef Shammo.

The statement read "the Kurdistan Freedom Movement is the resistance force that stood against the massacres, especially in Kurdistan."

it referred to the Turkish chemical attacks against the guerrilla fighters, saying, "The freedom fighters who saved Shingal from genocide in 2014, are being targeted with forbidden and chemical weapons."

Pointing to the international silence about these attacks, it said, "There is silence on these attacks at the global level," stressing that "silence on crimes is considered cooperation with those crimes."

'The new government must show its position on the Turkish attacks'

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of Shingal touched on the situation in Iraq, and said: "Iraq has been going through a political, social and economic crisis for a long time. Efforts to form the government are also continuing. Now the President of Iraq has been elected and the attempt to form the government succeeded and the government was formed. With the formation of this government, the government must be formed. That the interests of the people are taken into account, and the goal of this government must be to build a unified and democratic Iraq."

it called on the Iraqi government to respect the demands of the people of Shingal and to fulfill their legitimate rights within the framework of the Iraqi constitution, and continued, "We, the Autonomous Administration, will do our best to reach a democratic Iraq and build a democratic system in Shingal.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of Shingal presented a set of demands of the Yazidi community to the new Iraqi government, as follows:

“* Shingal is part of Iraq, but it has a culture and beliefs that have been constantly annihilated and have not been protected, for this reason we see the Autonomous Administration as the basic and most appropriate solution.

* Immediately cancel the agreement of October 9, 2020 between Baghdad and Erbil regarding Shingal, and we do not accept any agreement without the will of the Yazidi community and the people of Shingal.

* For the sake of the unity and stability of Iraq and Shingal, we in the Autonomous Administration are ready to negotiate with the new President of Iraq and the government to strengthen our cooperation on the basis of a democratic solution.

* We demand the Iraqi Council of Representatives to increase the representation of the Yazidis in Parliament.

* We call on all the Yazidis who were displaced to return to Shingal.

* We call on all Yazidis around the world, especially in Europe to provide the necessary assistance in the international arena and raise the level of struggle.

* We call on the United Nations, the United States, Iraq, and especially the countries that recognized the 2014 genocide to ban Iraqi airspace in general and Shangal in particular to stop Turkey's attacks.
