​​​​​​​YPJ General Command: Bêrîtan approach became more insistence and stronger

On the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Bêrîtan (Gulnaz Karataş) fighter, who refused to bow the occupation and betrayal with her sacrifice operation (Commando Operation) became a pioneer and the example of a bold woman who did not give up, the member of the General Leadership of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), Rohlat Afrin, spoke to ANHA’s agency.

In the character of Martyr Bêrîtan , Rohlat Afrin recalled all the martyrs of freedom, saluted the struggle and standing of women, and stressed that Martyr Beritan, through her process, built a culture of heroism, and continued: "Undoubtedly, there are many women in the history of Kurdistan who testify to their heroic stances, who faced the attacks and massacres that They are committed against their people by resistance and they refused to surrender, like Zarifa al-Dirsimiyya, and the martyr Bêrîtan also adopted this approach and refused to submit to the occupation and traitors.”

Rohlat Afrin noted the struggle and resistance of women in the 30 years following the martyrdom of the Bêrîtan fighter. She added: "The will and mobilization of women is the product of the struggle of comrade Bêrîtan. The YPJ that resisted Turkish occupation and attacks by ISIS mercenaries on our people and our land have drawn their thought and strength from Bêrîtan and now represent their approach and culture, until they spread throughout the Middle East. We, as YPJ in the face of occupation, betrayal and injustice, have not given up and will not surrender. The Bêrîtan approach represents the approach of redemption, leadership and women's mobilization. We, as YPJ, will continue to pursue this approach. "

She said: "Recently, following the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish occupying state with the participation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK), 17 Guerrilla fighters were martyred, again repeating the same history, opposite the attitude and resistance of the martyr Helbest Koçerîn and Mava Roj and dozens of martyrs came out.

In conclusion, the Member of the General Command of the Women's Protection Units, Rohlat Afrin, emphasized that "Saddam's chemical massacres were aimed at exterminating the Kurdish people, which is repeated today", and said: "But the spirit of Bêrîtan Resistance, which refused to surrender, is evolving, and we, as women in Rojava, Rojhilat, the whole of Kurdistan and the Middle East, have to move towards freedom and victory for the cause of women, and strengthen the struggle in all arenas to adhere to the Beritan approach."
