SDF success of its mediation for releasing 3 workers

The Syrian Democratic Forces mediated the release of 3 workers from the city of Kobani who had gone to the city of Mosul to work in digging drinking water wells about 6 years ago. The Iraqi authorities arrested them, accused them of joining ISIS, and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and a member of the General Command of the Forces, Newroz Ahmed, received the three workers after their release, mediated by SDF.

According to the official website of SDF, "the three young men had gone to the Southern Kurdistan region from Turkish territory after the ISIS attack on the city of Kobani in September 2014, where they obtained identification papers from the authorities there, as well as from the United Nations mission, and were arrested while they were on the western side of the city." Mosul, and taken to Nasiriyah prison in the Iraqi province of Dhi Qar after being sentenced to life imprisonment.

During the last period, the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces communicated with the Iraqi authorities, as mediation succeeded in releasing them.

The Commander-in-Chief of our forces stressed, during the reception of the three young men, "the necessity of staying in the homeland, giving it preference to other places, defending it, and not being drawn into false promises by those who do not want the best for the region and its people."
