SDF arrest a mercenary from ISIS in Raqqa

On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested a mercenary of ISIS in the village of Hawi al-Hawa, west of the city of Raqqa, and confirmed that it will continue its tasks in controlling security and ensuring stability in north and east Syria and confronting all hostile parties.

Today, SDF Media Center issued a statement announcing the arrest of a mercenary from ISIS in Raqqa. It said:

"Special units of the Syrian Democratic Forces have arrested an ISIS mercenary involved in directing the movements of terrorist cells and providing them with logistical and financial support.

The operation took place in the village of Hawi al-Hawa, west of Raqqa city, with the support of the International Coalition to Fight ISIS, where the mercenary was arrested with a number of forged identification papers and communication devices.

During the past days, our forces carried out large-scale operations targeting cells of the terrorist organization ISIS in Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa and Hasaka, where many mercenaries were arrested and large quantities of weapons and ammunition were seized.”
