Brigadier General Ali Al-Hassan: al-Hol Camp's dilemma is not domestic but international

Yesterday, Saturday, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria announced the end of the second phase of the "Humanity and Security" campaign in al-Hol camp, which it launched on August 25 to pursue ISIS mercenary cells and end their danger in the camp and lasted 24 days.

During the closing conference of the "Humanity and Security" campaign in its second phase, the Internal Security Forces confirmed the dispersal of the "Hisbah " and the "cubs of the caliphate", and called on the international forces that have nationals in the al-Hol camp to return them.

Despite the launch of the first and second phases of the "Humanity and Security" campaign and the achievement of tangible results, the danger of al-Hol camp still exists, and it is considered a time bomb in NE, Syria and the world at large.

In the context of the end of the second phase of the "Humanity and Security" campaign, our agency met with the member of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces for North and East Syria, Brigadier General Ali Al-Hassan.

Al-Hassan indicated that "the most important results of the campaign were the arrest of 226 mercenaries, including 36 women, the filling of 25 trenches, and the confiscation of a large number of weapons and ammunition that the mercenaries used to kill the camp's residents and anyone who did not follow the extremist ideology of ISIS and intimidate them."

He added, "Since the completion of the first phase of the "Humanity and Security" campaign, which was launched on March 28 last year, we have announced that the danger of al-Hol camp continues, and that we are facing great challenges within the camp."

Ali Al-Hassan continued, "The launch of the second phase of the campaign was delayed due to the Turkish occupation state's continuous attacks on NE, Syria along the border strip through the UAVs, but we launched it as a result of the necessary security need to eliminate the threat of ISIS within the camp."

He noted that "the main objective of the second phase of the "Humanity and Security" campaign is to eliminate the threat of ISIS mercenaries in al-Hol camp, especially after the increase in brutal killings and the dumping of victims' bodies in sewage canals."

Brigadier General Ali al-Hassan referred to their close relations with the Syrian Democratic Forces to establish security and safety within and outside al-Hol camp. He continued, "The "Humanity and Security" campaign in the first and second phases was supported by the Syrian Democratic Forces and the International Coalition because we agree on the danger of al-Hol camp."

At the end of his speech, a member of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces for North and East Syria, Brigadier General Ali al-Hassan confirmed that "the dilemma of al-Hol camp is not local but international, and it requires support and solidarity from all countries, whether by transferring their nationals from the camp or providing support to our forces."
