Damascus government has tightened the siege on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo, since the beginning of August, it has prevented the entry of fuel, basic materials and medicines into the 2 neighborhoods.

More than 216,000 people in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods suffer from the consequences of the unjust siege on the 2 neighborhoods, which began with the occupation of Afrin Canton by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries and the forced displacement that targeted the residents of the Canton.

According to administrators in the General Council that runs the 2 neighborhoods, the electricity was cut off from the 2 neighborhoods 48 hours ago, as a result of the lack of diesel fuel to operate the generators that supply the neighborhoods with energy, in addition to flour and medicines.

This led to the suspension of many industrial facilities and workshops, which constitute the main source of livelihood for the people of these 2 neighborhoods.

Damascus government imposes the siege, through its Fourth Division, which prevents the arrival of essential materials to sustain the lives of more than 216,000 people, according to the latest official census of these 2 neighborhoods.
