YBŞ with statement on the August 3 genocide: Will ask for accountability for all genocides

The Shengal Resistance Untis Command: “We are more ready today than ever before to cooperate with the people of the region in defending the sovereignty of Iraqi territory against the occupation. For the sake of this, we will not take any steps backwards when it comes to defending these values and our holy land. Whatever the cost is, we will never take a single step back. This is because our feelings for avenging the genocides grow stronger for each day and becomes our promise to hold the enemy accountable. We are the defense forces of our people. We are a force that holds traitors to accountability. “

The statement reads: “We face the 8th anniversary of the genocide treacherously carried out against our people and our land with the same pain and anger of revenge. First of all, we commemorate the martyrs of the genocide with all our love and honor. We bow our heads in honor of their memories. We promise to follow along the path of the struggle carried out by all the people that came from all the parts of our country and from abroad to defend this holy land and sacrificed their lives for its liberation. We reiterate our promise to carry out their goals and dreams for a free life in a free country.”

Their statement continued: “On this basis, we will increase our level of self-organization against all attacks by the occupation. If any thoughts of taking a step back exists in regards to the enemy`s attacks, it is only a thought of self-deception. Nobody should have such thoughts for themselves. Our will for avenging the genocide grows stronger for each day that passes by and becomes our promise for holding the enemy accountable”

In their statement, they warned about the treason of Barzani and the KDP and stated that: “All of the people should be aware of the fact that Barzani and the KDP stands with the enemy and carrying out dirty games against the people and only act in accordance with their personal interests. They carry out unfortunate and dirty attacks every day. The reason for this is the continuation of Barzani and KDP`s concept of treason.”

They concluded their statement by saying: “In this sense, let's once again remember our martyrs from the first day to the present day with all our love, respect and connections. We will fulfill the promise we have made on the souls of our martyrs. We will follow their path forever and we will fulfill their dreams and goals. On this basis and the promise we gave them, we reiterate our promise to make their path into the success and victory of our people”
