Foza Yousif: “Our model is unique and must be protected against attacks”

PYD`s Co-Presidency Council member Foza Yousif spoke at the Women`s Revolution Forum.

Foza Yousif stated that: “It is an honor for us to speak about the most important gains made by women on the 10^th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution. We women are very lucky that there were some women who sacrificed their lives to achieve women`s freedom. Furthermore, fighters like Sakine Cansiz, Arin, Shilan and more, reached martyrdom when pushing for the development of the women`s revolution.”

Foza Yousif spoke about the reasons for the escalating tensions among the world`s states and continued: “The world is going through a difficult stage as a result of the patriarchal mentality developed by the capitalist forces. The Middle-East is experiencing fierce wars at the moment. Hundreds of women and children are in the desserts. This goes back to the male fight for authority and power in the Third World War.”

`THE CAPITALIST REGIME IS CARRYING OUT A POLICY OF CULTURAL GENOCIDE AGAINST THE PEOPLE`

Foza Yousif continued: “Today, te capitalist regime is carrying out a policy of cultural genocide against the people. The war carried out by capitalist forces, is a war against humanity and the gains of the people. Every day a new virus is created by biological warfare and poverty increases with an economical warfare. The goals of those wars is to manifest the position of authority. Unfortunataely, these are the obstacles and difficulties we are living with.”

`THE WORLD NEEDS A REVOLUTION AND NEW POLICIES`

Foza Yousif continued in her speach: “The current capitalist regime are carrying out wars instead of spreading out freedom. Instead of spreading freedom they are distributing weapons. During the past 5 months, more than 3 million people have migrated from the Ukraine. During the course of 10 years of war in Syria, hundreds of thousands people have become refugees and hundreds have been massacred. This regime destroyed the state. Conflicts continue in Libya, and in Libanon there is a poverty crises. The Iraqi government has yet to establish a government. Blood has been spilled in Afghanistan for the last 70 years. This is its reality and true face.”

Foza Yousif said that: “The continous attacks on the occupied territories and violations against women are due to the leading patriarchal mentality. The world needs a revolution and new policies. This is why we say that the Rojava Revolution is a women`s revolution. Through the free woman and the democratic nation project, we gave a message to the capitalist regime that there is an alternative solution in regards to how the world should be governed. This is why the Rojava Revolution has caught the attention of us all.”

Foza Yousif brought to attention that the capitalist regime needs a new mentality and continued by stating that: “We wanted to change this mentality through the Women`s Revolution lead by Kurdish women and the women of Mesopotamia. Many new perspectives based on jineology have emerged from this revolution. We greet the occasion of the 10th anniversary of this revolution and the 23 years of resistance by Abdullah Ocala who has developed this idea, in the Imrali prison.

Foza Yousif added: “The women of Mesopotamia are lucky, because we are writing history ourselves. In the 10 years of the revolution, we write a golden page from the efforts of women in every stage of this revolution. Those women have left their footprints on the revolution and this is why we women are lucky and able to think with a free mind. This model is unique to all other models in the world. We must protect it, becuase our region is subjected to continous attacks and threats.”

Foza Yousif sent a message to the women which said: “The blood-minded forces are not satisfied with our idea. This is why we must prepare ourselves for a big war. Just as we became the vanguards of all the women of the world, we must raise the revolutionary women`s revolution. We must not decieve ourselves and we must build ourselves with the mentality of defense. The forces that played with the corpse of our comrade Barin, want to destroy us. Accordingly, every free woman must be ready to take up arms. If not, the fate of women will become to end up as a tool in the hands of those forces.”

`WE MUST FILL OUR SPIRITS WITH FREEDOM`

Foza Yousif said this on the matter: “We must fill our spirits with freedom. Without defense there will be no freedom. Without defense we will not be able to continue with freedom. We must always remember the women of Afrin, Serekaniye and Afghatnistan and monitor their situation.

At the end of her speach, Foza Yousif congratulated all women and conluded with the following: “The women played the roles as vanguards in this revolution. They work as equals in the co-chair system and have been able to create an understanding between themselves and their people and held their heads high, but this does not mean that the revolution has come to an end. We must enhance this struggle with proffesionalism. On this occasion, we congratulate the 10th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution. We are strong. We must stay strong and believe in ourselves and make the 21st century the century of freedom for all the women of struggle. The 21st century will become the century of freedom for women and the peoples.”
