The speech of the co-chairs of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Aisha Heso and Anwar Muslim, came during the opening speech of the party’s ninth conference, which was held in the presence of 700 delegates from the party in north and east Syria, Kurdistan, and Europe, in the city of al-Hasakah.

Anwar Muslim highlighted the sensitive conditions that the region is going through, "This conference is being held in light of extremely dangerous internal and external situations, where crises are exacerbating throughout the world, and in Syria in particular, and difficult conditions prevail that the region has never faced, starting with the Turkish occupation of some cities and towns to an increase in the pace of human rights violations by the factions loyal to them in the occupied territories, to add to all that the Russian-Ukrainian war, to further exacerbate the economic crisis in the region and the world.”

Muslim pointed to the Turkish attacks on north and east Syria and Southern Kurdistan, "We witnessed the Turkish occupation's persistence in hostility to the Kurdish people by bombing safe areas, whether in Southern Kurdistan or in north and east Syria, and targeting national and civilian figures, amid the silence of the international community, including the guarantor countries, and this gave Turkey the opportunity and full cover for committing atrocities, terrorizing civilians, demolishing homes, mobilizing armies, and threatening to continue their occupation of other areas."

Muslim stressed that the Democratic Union Party realized that “strengthening the structure of society is supposed to be the presence of forces full of movement. Therefore, the party has worked over the past period to balance interests between different regions and parties to fill the gaps that hostile external forces can penetrate to detract from the will of the peoples of the region.”

Muslim said, "It requires all political forces and social actors to carry out their duties and engage without hesitation in a serious and responsible dialogue based on acceptance of the other and openness and the adoption of equal dialogue as the only way to reach solutions to issues and problems and crystallize what can be agreed upon of common goals and strive to achieve those goals even by different methods.

He called on the Security Council and the international community to fully supervise the implementation of its resolutions on Syria, and work to end the occupation, which cannot be achieved without national unity among all Syrian peoples and components, and without serious and transparent dialogue between them.

In her turn, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Heso, said, "Our party was able to organize itself in all regions of north and east Syria, in our belief that the philosophy of brotherhood of peoples put forward by the leader and thinker Abdullah Ocalan is the key to the only solution to the Middle East crisis as a result of the policies of tyrannical national regimes that crushed societies. it emptied it of its essence because those regimes that were managed by external powers are now a burden on themselves, and on those forces, and when they wanted to change, the region was ravaged by this miserable state that turned into a nightmare for the peoples of the Middle East.

Aisha Heso stressed the need to solve the Kurdish issue to reach a solution to the problems of Syria and the Middle East: “The solution to the Kurdish issue is a way out for resolving the Syrian crisis and situation, and solving all outstanding issues in the Middle East.

Regarding the policies of the Kurdish National Council, Aisha Heso said: "We see that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has a negative role in influencing the Kurdish National Council, which is still dependent on the Turkish state, which is waging a war of extermination against the Kurds, even though we as a party and when we started the dialogue and the national unity parties were formed, our goal was reaching real unity while preserving our red lines, but there was no change by the other side, and we believe that national unity lies in returning to the national line.”

Aisha Heso pointed out that the party believes that the revolution in north eastern Syria is the revolution of women and youth, and said, "Women were able, through their ideological and political struggle, to be in the party's ranks and deservedly because they were always marginalized in political work, which has always been the preserve of men, but through the philosophy of The free woman - The woman was able to play pioneering role until she became present in all parts of the party.

She added, "Women in the north and east of Syria were able to lead the leadership to bring their society to safety and consolidate societal concepts that create a free citizen in a free homeland because the slavery of society expresses the slavery of women, in cases of war and displacement always the target group is women and youth, so we see that there is a direct targeting them, especially the younger group.

Aisha Heso pledged to "raise the pace of struggle to raise the pace of defense, to preserve the equal participatory life that will make the community rise to an ecological communal society in which the citizen finds belonging and loyalty to the homeland, and in which every citizen enjoys the rights of citizenship and the support of the young group, and the organization of ranks to defeat the occupation, the liberation of the occupied Syrian lands, and the arrival of a decentralized, democratic Syria.
