9th PYD conference kicks off 

The work of the ninth conference of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) was launched under the slogan "In the spirit of the people's revolutionary war, we will defeat the occupation and build a democratic Syria", in the city of al-Hasakah, north and east of Syria, according to its internal system, which stipulates that the conference be held every two years.

And 700 delegates from party members, offices and representatives in north and east Syria, Kurdistan and Europe will participate in the conference, according to the Preparatory Committee.

The conference, held in Sardam Cultural Hall in the city of al-Hasakah, decorated with pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, pictures of martyrs, and flags of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), will be attended by dozens of representatives of more than 32 Kurdish political parties and gatherings.

Also attending are dozens of representatives of Arab and Syriac political parties and civil society institutions in north and east Syria, and representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria headed by the co-chair of the Executive Council, Berivan Khaled, and a number of other officials, and the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement Gharib Heso, and Roken Ahmed.

According to the Preparatory Committee, the conference program will, over two days, address the opening speech in the name of the joint presidency of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), a speech on behalf of the War Wounded Foundation, a speech for the Council of Martyrs’ Families for North and East Syria, a speech by Kongra Star, reading of the report of the previous session, discussion and approval of the party’s internal system, to end with the election of a joint presidency and a council of the party.
