Zozan Cewlik: Kurdistan movement fights for all repressed peoples

Member of the Central Command of YJA-Star made a statement to the Kurdish channel Sterk TV and was published by the ANF.

Zozan touched upon a number of issues shaping Kurdistan and the Middle East. Zozan said the sacrifices made today by the YJA-Star and the guerrilla fighters are to defend not only the Kurdish people but all repressed peoples.

On the attacks of the Turkish occupation forces on the medya defense zones since 15 April the last Zozan said: the scheme of attack is an extension to that of the last year that targeted Avashin and Metina among others. The Kurdistan Freedom Movement resists on behalf of the Kurdish people and all peoples of the Middle East.  

''They seek to overcome the resisting line of our movement that was developed by leader Abdullah Ocalan for the freedom of all wronged peoples. Many powers perceive this line a threat to their agendas and interests for this goal they joined the plot and the orbit of war taking place against us. The first of these powers is NATO which legitimizes the attacks against the leader and the Kurdish people as well. In this regard they want to put an end to the Kurdish people that defends freedom and the idea of the democratic nation incarnated in the personage of leader Ocalan. They want to break the will of the resistance put up by leader Ocalan and the Kurdistan Workers' Party at large'', Zozan said.

On the scope of the attack s carried out Zozan said:

''these attacks are not merely against the Kurdistan Workers' Party rather they are far reaching ones. This is the policy of occupation. It is a far reaching one. The Kurdish people ought to be aware of the core of these attacks carried out. this year is a complicated one for the AKP-MHP alliance. It is a complicated year for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK , too.

In the last 20 years the Justice and Development Party continued its rule by embracing fascist and dictatorial polices. The intrepid resistance put up in jails and the resistance in Gara and Avashin and the real stance on 8 March and Newroz Day all weakened the position of the Justice and Development Party and that of the Nationalist Movement Party.

On the stance adopted by the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation forces Zozan Cewlik said:

''this is a very sensitive issue. Both PKK and the Kurdish people approached this issue wisely in a bid to prevent the PDK to take part in the war years ago and in order to avert the Kurdish people sufferings and to preserve the gains made. We spared no efforts and the Kurdish people showed its real stance to the end but the Kurdistan Democratic Party took another step towards the occupation by the Turkish occupation state of other areas in the medya defense zones. Both the Turkish occupation state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party met a lot of time before the attacks were carried out.

On the role played by YJA-Star in the battles taking place Zozan said:

''YJA Star had a prominent and a leading role in the clashes taking places. Up to date, 8 comrades were martyred. In the image of Mizgin, Viyan and Sharistan I remember all martyrs in deference''.  

''in the clashes taking place in Zap and Avashin the YJA-Star are taking the initiative in the vanguard and in the moving  units and in all arenas of the war. They have a strong will and determination. They know the responsibility on their shoulders.  The Kurdish woman preserves her natural strength.''

Zozan concluded by saying:

''The Kurdish people is going to continue fighting in the spirit of Newroz 2022. For the sacrifices made by the guerrilla fighters the Kurdish people should show its stance  and to give support to the resistance put by. We will turn every area in Kurdistan into resistance battles and to attain victory against fascism of Justice and Development Party  and that of Nationalist Movement Party.''
