Al-Maliki's Coalition: Barzani gave green light to Turkish incursion

Member of the State of Law Coalition, Ahmed Al-Sufi, noted that many politicians were silent about the Turkish attacks on southern Kurdistan, stressing that the attacks happened after President Masrour Barzani met his Turkish counterpart Erdogan.

According to Roj News Agency, Al-Sufi, said in a statement that, "some politicians have common interests with Turkey, and this is the reason for their silence over the Turkish attacks, which were flagrantly repeated".

Al-Sufi confirmed that "the Turkish military operation was being prepared for a while".

Since April 17, the Turkish occupation army has launched large-scale attacks on legitimate defense areas in southern Kurdistan, with the participation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, when the President of the Government of Southern Kurdistan, Masrour Barzani, visited Turkey on April 15, and met with Turkish President Recep Erdogan and intelligence chief Hakan Fidan.

On March 26, 2022, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdistan Community Union announced that Turkey plans to launch an attack on southern Kurdistan in cooperation with the PDK.
