 Analysis

 The name Imrali comes from the name of the Ottoman commander, Amir Ali, who conquered the island and wrested it from the Byzantines.  The Roman people were the ones who inhabited this island until 1913. Then this island was evacuated after the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923 and its people moved to Greece.  The first open prison in Turkey was established on this island in 1935. The island's prisoners worked outside the prison in agriculture.  In 1960-1961, the leader of the Democratic Party and his companions were arrested on this island and executed.

 The Lebanese writer and journalist, Hamo Moscovian, stressed that the Turkish occupation state is a machine of destruction, displacement and extermination, and demanded an end to traitors, referring to the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Turkey's main partner in the genocidal attack against the guerrillas and the Kurds.  (photos and video attached).
