The Firat News Agency, quoting the British Telegraph newspaper, reported that oil companies belonging to Başûr (Southern Kurdistan), in particular the "Car" company, which is close to the Barzani family, granted an amount of 400 pounds to Gary Kent, an adviser to a British parliamentarian.

The newspaper reported that CarKrupp, run by Buzz Karim, paid Gary Kent 57,000 pounds in 2015, an adviser to Labor MP Mary Glendon. The newspaper reported that a total of 400,000 pounds was paid to Gary Kent.

The former chair of the Committee on Standards of Public Life, Alistair Graham, spoke to The Telegraph about the issue and said that paying or awarding MPs by foreign companies as secret work .
