PYD: Ocalan is able to accomplish more if he has physical freedom

On the occasion of the 73rd birthday of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued, Sunday, a statement to the public opinion, in which it drew attention to the fact that the leader Ocalan developed his ideas and visions until they reached the democratic nation, for his conclusion that the salvation of the Kurdish people is linked salvation of coexisting peoples and intertwined with him throughout history.

The text of the statement we received read:

"The Kurdish people celebrate these days the birth of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, the captive in an isolated prison on the island of Imrali isolated from the world in the Sea of ​​Marmara, in conditions that are far from human rights and the rights of prisoners and detainees, and no international laws, including those established by Turkish fascism for its prisons, and its prisons, nor any moral rules from which Turkish fascism has been stripped in its war of extermination, which it is waging against the Kurdish people.

Leader “APO” was born in a remote Kurdish village to a Kurdish family that secures its livelihood from agriculture, but he was distinguished among his peers with his intelligence and his unique view of society and its relations. He studied a great deal of the struggle of which he was a part, as he studied the lives of the greats in history from prophets, messengers, saints, thinkers and reformers and their impact on their societies at historical turns, and tried to imitate them and their messages to humanity, including following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ in forming a group of disciples in Newroz in 1973 until He was able to establish his party in 1978 and then migrate to the hot region in the Middle East when the path to his struggle narrowed after the fascist campaign launched by the Turkish state against him and his comrades in the struggle, and then he returned to his struggle in Mesopotamia.

Leader “APO” concluded that the salvation of the Kurdish people is linked to the salvation of coexisting and intertwined peoples throughout history and for this he developed his ideas, philosophy and visions until he reached the development of the philosophy and principles of the democratic nation, which posed a threat to the interests of the global hegemonic forces that guarantee their interests through sowing discord between peoples and wars among them, which prompted them to arrange an international conspiracy in which they were all involved, and captured him and handed him over to Turkish fascism in 1999, where the leader is still imprisoned in conditions of complete isolation that are unacceptable, neither legally nor morally, in a situation unprecedented in history.

We in the General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) celebrate the birthday of Leader “APO”, and we congratulate the Kurdish people and the peoples of Mesopotamia for what their leader accomplished in theory and practice to pave the way for them to reach, dignified and democratic life in which peoples feel their humanity and dignity away from exploitation and enslavement. We also call on all democratic and revolutionary forces in the Middle East and the world to unite and work together to liberate a leader who has become the hope of hundreds of millions of people. He is capable of achieving more if he has physical freedom and live in his environment and the arms of his people. The birth of such a leader and role model means a new birth for those who followed his ideas and philosophy on the path of establishing a human society in which justice, equality and freedom prevail.”

Leader Abdullah Ocalan is arrested on Imrali Island prison, following an international conspiracy implemented by international and regional powers, in 1999 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and handed over to the Turkish authorities, who imposed strict isolation on him, preventing him from meeting his lawyer and family with him.

The last meeting with Leader Ocalan was held by his lawyer on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother, Mehmet Ocalan, that lasted only 5 minutes, and then the communication was cut off.

This call came after allegations published by Turkish virtual media about the leader's health, which provoked popular reactions from around the world, forcing the authorities to allow contact with his brother, Mehmet Ocalan.
