Newroz Day 2022: From Kawa to Ocalan resistance continues

Today, the Preparatory Committee for Newroz events in Raqqa organized a mass celebration in which thousands of people from Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor participated, in the square of the Faculty of Agriculture next to the al-Furusiya Roundabout in the western outskirt of Raqqa city

The celebration began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, after which the co-chair of the Raqqa Civil Council, Sheikh Mohammad Nour al-Dhib, welcomed all attendees, and congratulated the people of north and east Syria on Newroz and the Kurdish component in particular.

He added: "Newroz holiday is the feast of the human being who has long struggled for centuries, in order to get rid of all forms of injustice by tyrannical regimes," stressing "adherence to our national principles calling for a solution to the Syrian crisis, based on the international reference represented by UN Resolution 2,254, and implementing all of its clauses are through the Syrian dialogue away from foreign interference, which was a major reason for prolonging the Syrian crisis.

On behalf of the Future Syria Party, the assistant head of the party’s council in Raqqa, Leyla Qahraman, spoke, who said, “Every year and the people of north and east Syria are well, we send congratulations and blessings to our people in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî. I welcome the military, civil and women’s institutions, and the youth movements. We also welcome the delegations coming from Deir ez-Zor, Manbij, Tabqa and the people of Afrin.”

Leyla Qahraman stressed, "We will continue our resistance and struggle until Newroz 2022 is the celebration of the physical freedom of leader Ocalan, with the will of the peoples of the region, the will of our administration, and the will of our project, the democratic nation project, and we will face all challenges."

On behalf of the Raqqa Military Council, the leader, Faisal Al-Salem, spoke, "We extend our congratulations to all the Aryan peoples in the world, led by our Kurdish people in north and east Syria, on the National Day of Newroz. We also extend our congratulations to the families of our martyrs and wounded, and to our people in the occupied cities and villages from Ras al-Ain to Tel Abyed to Afrin.

Faisal Al-Salem explained, "On this occasion, we are united by our reality as peoples who live on this land with its diversity, cultures, history and destiny.

On behalf of the Martyrs' Families Council in the city of Raqqa, the co-chair of the council, Shams Al-Hussein, spoke, who said, "Newroz holiday will remain the festival of spring, joy, struggle, solidarity, brotherhood, peace, stress and emancipation, Newroz will remain a national holiday rooted in the culture of peoples, a celebration of solidarity among the nationalities of our people, and a title for the struggle against injustice and oppression.

Kobani

The Vice co-chairmanship of the Kobani Canton Council, Farhan Kobani, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and blessed them with the advent of Newroz this year, the leader Abdullah Ocalan, the detainees in prisons, and all components in the region.

"Kawa al-Hadad defeated in the year 612 BC, the unjust ruler Dahhak and liberated the Kurdish people, which made this day blessed. Today, the leader Abdullah Ocalan continues this path with his comrades who carried the torch of Newroz and continued the struggle to liberate the oppressed peoples," he said.

He added, "Our arrival to this day is thanks to the sacrifices of leader Abdullah Ocalan and our martyrs who fought battles in defense of the existence of our people and achieved great gains in the face of the occupiers and fascists."

In conclusion, he saluted the People's and Women Protection Units (YPG- YPJ) and the general Kurdish people and his friends.

Then, member of the Coordination of Kongra Star in the Euphrates region, Mazkin Khalil, delivered a speech congratulating the Newroz holiday on the attendance and leader Abdullah Ocalan.

She said, "The last victory in al-Hasakah was Newroz for us. All our days have become Newroz, the resistance shown by the guerrillas in the mountains of Kurdistan is proof that the struggle against the occupation and oppressors continues."

She added, "Every day we achieve a new victory. Women today are achieving gains and victories against dictatorship and injustice. All the peoples of the region achieve gains together, and with the spirit and will of the peoples of the region, this year's Newroz will be the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan's body and the liberation of our occupied areas."

The Vice co-chairmanship of the of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hamdan Al-Abed, also delivered a speech in which he congratulated the Newroz holiday on the attendance, in both Arabic and Kurdish.

He added, "We defended the world for the sake of humanity. The world must defend us. We meet pain with joy, Nowruz is the holiday of joy and freedom, but in return we remember Halabja (March 16) and the memory of the occupation of Afrin (March 18)."

He stressed in the context of his speech, "We are advocates of peace and not advocates of war, but we have the right to resist."

Al-Hasakah

During Newroz al-Hasakah, the co-chair of the canton council, Samar al-Abdullah, delivered a speech in which she blessed the peoples of north and east Syria, especially the Kurdish people, and the military forces protecting the region, and the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and said: "We celebrate today in al-Hasakah, after That its people offered the highest meanings of sacrifice and redemption in the face of the fiercest terrorist organizations.”

During the celebration, a speech was delivered in the name of the National Unity Parties, by a member of the Political Bureau of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, Fathallah Hiso, who congratulated the Kurdish people and all Syrian peoples on this occasion, saying: "We extend our most beautiful and sincere congratulations to our Kurdish people everywhere. On the occasion of the arrival of Newroz, we wish everyone joy and happiness and the return of stability, security and peace to Syria.

He stressed that the victory of the Kurds and the liberation of the peoples of the region and the world from (Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, and Assyrians) from the oppression of ISIS in Mosul and even Raqqa and the protection of the region and the world, is nothing but an extension of what Kawa al-Haddad did 2634 years ago, in achieving salvation for peoples from injustice.

On behalf of the Martyrs' Families Council in Al-Hasakah, Fatima Hussein gave a speech in which she emphasized that Newroz symbolizes freedom and the renewal of life, and that it coincided with the victory of the peoples of the region over injustice and tyranny, in reference to (ISIS mercenary attack on Hasakah).

She pointed out that the victory achieved by the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces over ISIS mercenaries on January 26, 2022, is an extension of Kawa Haddad's victory, and the resistance of Mazloum Dogan, who carried out the commando operation against injustice inside the prisons of the Turkish occupation state.

She called on the peoples of the region to work together to maintain civil peace, consolidate the values of coexistence, and confront conflicts that contradict the values, customs and traditions of the region, and the aspirations of its people in a free and democratic management system.

The celebration continues with artistic performances by the participating teams.

Girkê Legê

In Girkê Legê celebration, Democratic Society Movement's co- chair, Roken Ahmed congratulated all peoples yearning for freedom and said, "Newroz this year is Newroz of victory, and achievement of leader's physical freedom.

She continued, "Our people are resisting in all regions to achieve victory, we have triumphed by the will of all components, Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs in Manbij, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor."

Roken Ahmed added, "We face difficult days ahead. Our regions are under attack now. I appeal to all the Kurdish people to unite and hold a Kurdish national conference."

Ahmed concluded her speech by saying, "The enemy, throughout history, has sought to blow up our revolution through the line of betrayal, and our people will eliminate this betrayal,In order to achieve the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan."

After that, the Heavy Troupe presented a theatrical show called "The Fire and Darkness", where the Shahba performed a folkloric dance.

Then, notable of Zabid tribe, Ragheb Al-Faris, said, "The Newroz day is the Newroz of freedom. The leader Abdullah Ocalan, with his ideas he created a societal revolution based on freedom, justice and equality through the democratic nation project, which the Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs gathered under its roof."

He added: "This project proved its success during the Rojava revolution, because it is a project of coexistence, fraternity and love, along with enhancing the role of women in all fields."

For his part, the co-chair of the Martyrs' Families Council in Girkê Legê district, Ihsan Shibli, said , " We will liberate the leader and follow the footsteps of the martyrs in order to achieve their goals."

The Newroz celebration continues with performances of the following artistic groups: "Al-Nia, the martyr Sarhad - Sarhildan - Arab Music - and Kovend Arab

Aleppo

This morning, the celebrations of Newroz 2022 were launched in the Shaqif area of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo, with participation of components of various affiliations and nationalities, under the slogan "With the will of the peoples, we will make Nowruz 2022, the freedom of the leader APO."

The Syrian Social Nationalist Party, the Committee of Tribal Notables and the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ali Rahmon, also participated in the celebration.

Then, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Gharib Hesso, noted that Newroz has become a legacy due to the resistance of the fighters and the Kurdish people, and said: "On this day, the will of the peoples triumphed over the hegemonic powers and the tyrannical regimes."

Hasso indicated that the torch has a sacred and very valuable meaning, and said: "Our resistance started from Kawa Al-Haddad and Mazloum Dogan and the fighters who sacrificed their lives in order to get rid of injustice.

In turn, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hasso, indicated that Newroz Day is the day of freedom, and stressed on the need for the resistance to take a way to achieve the physical freedom of the leader Ocalan.

As for the member of the Committee of Clan Notables in Aleppo, Sheikh Ali Hassan sent an Arab congratulatory telegram to Imrali prison, where the leader Abdullah Ocalan is, and said: “How beautiful the day and how beautiful if the leader was among us."

Fatima Koshan gave a speech on behalf of Kongra Star, in which she said: "By lighting the torch, we send a message to the occupiers and tyrants whose content is that no one will stop us and our cause will be victorious."

Then the torch of Nowruz will be lit by the families of the martyrs. The celebration will continue with the performance of the "Akri, Jaya Hawari, Yekitia Hunarmanda" troupe, affiliated with the Golden Crescent Center for Culture and Art in Aleppo, with singing performances alongside the "Botan" band and local artists, "Niyazi Seydou, Somaya Muhammad".
