Turkish state continues to impose severe isolation on leader Abdullah Ocalan in order to undermine the Kurdish people and to thwart all democratic projects in the Middle East. It prevents him from meeting with his clients and his family. The last contact of the leader with the outside centre was on 25 March 2021, with his brother, Mohammad Ocalan, on a telephone call for five minutes and then the call was cut off.

Al-Asr Office, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on torture, called for urgent action to be taken to address the situation of their clients, leader Ocalan, Omar Kheri Kunar, Hajel Yildrum and Wese Aktash in Imrali.

The international plot implemented on the leader Ocalan entered its 24th year, despite all the appeals and initiatives launched to release leader Abdullah Ocalan, However, Turkey continues to ignore international laws, Kongr Star coordination member in Europe, Delsha Osman talked to ANHA’s agency about that.

At the outset, she referred to the repressive policies imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan by the Turkish Government: "The leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Ocalan, has been isolated since 1999, but since 2015 the isolation imposed on him has moved to a new stage and has become more severe and dangerous, worsening over time."

Delsha Osman stressed that the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan and the denial of access to and communication with his lawyer, his parents and international organizations was illegal and was a flagrant violation of all human rights covenants and charters and detainees, noting that such violations revealed Turkey's failure to comply with international law and the laws of the European Court.

Turkey's imposition of severe isolation on leader Ocalan as a consequence of its failure to recognize the Kurdish issue and to find a solution, and continued: "Turkey believes, even today, that it can end the resistance of the Kurdish people by isolating leader Ocalan from the people. We therefore see Turkey's continued policy of harassment and disciplinary sanctions, along with isolation, as a violation that has not occurred in any detention in the world to date. "

With regard to Turkey's repressive policies against leader Ocalan, Delsha Osman had shown that the isolation imposed 23 years previously had a negative impact not only on Imrali Prison but also on the general population in the Middle East, noting that Turkey's failure to exploit the opportunity offered by leader Ocalan to return to the zone of peace, security and co-existence had led it to continue its repressive policies and to indulge more in the chauvinism swamp.

Delsha Osman touched upon the Imrali Prison system and the lack of similarity in its mechanisms with the rest of the other prisons in Turkey, due to its connection to European law. But despite the laws relating to the methods of dealing with prisoners in it, However, Turkey has stated on more than one occasion that it does not recognize the decisions of the Committee of Ministers of the European Council, disregarding it.

Delsha Osman again criticized the Committee against Torture for failing to fulfil its responsibilities to guarantee the rights of detainees, noting that, in the case of leader Ocalan specifically, it cannot be dealt with simply as it is, identifying the problem but not seeking a solution, slowly and carelessly, and that its lack of seriousness is disproportionate to its role.

Kongr Star coordination member in Europe, Delsha Osman, talked about the initiatives and campaigns launched in European countries, as well as in a number of Arab and Kurdistan countries, to achieve the physical freedom of leader Ocalan are within the normal and general framework of the attempts of the peoples of the region, including the Kurdish people, to defend their existence and identity, which is the freedom of their leader, Mr. Abdullah Ocalan.

And the member of Kongra Star's coordinator in Europe, Delsha Osman, concluded her speech by saying: "It is no secret to anyone that the personality of Leader Abdullah Ocalan enjoys a social and democratic mentality that struggles for the consolidation of the democratic system."

Stressing the importance of the physical freedom of the leader Ocalan to solve the problems of the Middle East in making it a center of human civilization again, she said: "From here comes the importance of working in all ways and means to release the leader Ocalan as soon as possible, and this places great responsibility on the Kurdistan community and the friends of the Kurds by developing Events in all parts of Kurdistan and the world are led by women and the promotion of democratic activities in the face of the system of isolation in Imrali.
