SDF discloses the toll of the Turkish occupation crimes within a year

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed the outcome of the Turkish and its mercenaries' crimes against the people of North and East Syria during 2021, stressing that its forces, within the framework of legitimate defense, managed to repel and thwart dozens of the Turkish incursions into the region.

SDF's Media Center issued a statement to public opinion, revealed the outcome of Turkish crimes and attacks against NE Syria regions.

which stated: "The crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenary gangs against the Syrian people have not stopped since they set foot on the Syrian lands in 2011, especially against our liberated areas from "ISIS and Al-Nusra".Furthermore the Turkish occupation committed many crimes, intimidation and systematic destruction, with assistant of approaches based on political interest, blackmail between many regional and international countries and occupation intelligence institutions .

The statement criticized the international silence regarding the Turkish genocide in the occupied territories: by saying: “According to international law on defining demographic change, and putting pressure on the indigenous people to push them to migrate and leave their place of origin, mass killing, and harsh living conditions, falling within the framework of the crime of “genocide” such as these prominent and repeated examples in the occupied areas in Afrin, Girê Spî / Tal Abyad and Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain, based on a clear drawn plan which confirms that the Turkish hostile mentality has not fallen on deaf ears in the global conscience

The statement affirmed, " 2021 was a year for the escalation of Turkish crimes against our people, whether in the occupied areas or on NE Syria, the occupation has repeatedly tried through ground and air attacks, incursions attempts, and agents planted to push its residents to displacement again.

The statement continued, "During 2021, the occupation tried to create war again and provoke our forces many times, where its intelligence services falsified facts and fabricated many fake military attacks to accuse our fighters and create justifications for its aggression against civilians who were harmed physically, materially and morally, including those who left their lands and migrated their homes.
" As a result of the repeated and systematic attacks, which primarily aimed to empty the area of its original inhabitants and forming a “empty population” area to house terrorists of ISIS and various al-Qaeda organizations, where it is no longer a secret.
The toll of the Turkish occupation crimes
Summary of Turkish attacks and their repercussions and effects on areas of NE Syria, from Derik to occupied Afrin and Al-Shahba areas:
- 47 number of ground attacks and attempted incursions.
- 1,300 attacks with heavy weapons “cannons and tanks” in which about seven thousand artillery, tanks and mortar shells were used.
- 89 drone attacks.
- 58 villages and 3 towns directly bombarded “Zarghan, Ain Issa and Tel Rifaat,” and shelling of civilian areas in Qamishlo, Kobane, Tel Tamer and Çilaxa.
- 52 manhunts and preventing civilians from reaching their farms.
- 89 civilian martyrs.
- Field execution: the terrorist factions affiliated with Turkey executed 35-year-old citizen Abdul Majeed Al-Awad during infiltration of terrorists into village of Debs, northwest of Ain Issa on September 22, 2021.
- 134 civilians wounded.
- The number of civilians kidnapped by the occupation and its mercenaries in “Afrin, Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain”: more than 700 civilians.
- Destruction and theft 22 archaeological sites.
The statement added, "The Turkish forces have violated the sanctities of the people and bulldozed the cemetery of civilian and military martyrs in Afrin and transferred their bodies to another unknown area, after they had earlier destroyed a number of graves in villages of Matina, Qazqli and Avesta Khabur on the road to the village of Kafr Shel and turned them into livestock market."
The graveyard of Assyrian martyrs in village of Tal Shanan and Tal Juma's in countryside of Tal Tamr were also bombed, while "Faylaq al-Rahman" mercenaries bulldozed martyrs cemetery in city of Sere Kaniyeh / Ras al-Ain and turned it into a military headquarters, moreover the terrorist gangs affiliated with Turkey dug up a cemetery of Tal Abyad looking for
artifacts.
The Turkish occupation also directly targeted mosque of town of Zarghan, where the indiscriminate bombardment caused destruction of its parts, and death of many civilians fleeing the bombing, in addition to the shelling of “Al-Fatsa” village school, east of Ain Issa, schools of villages of Tal Tamr, Al-Kozliya, Al-Dardara, Bab Al-Khair, Abboush, Tal Juma’. Kozelia, Umm al-Kaif, the people's house in Dardara village and the Civil Council, as well as more than 19 electricity centers.
Also, the deliberate assassination of civilians, led by martyrs of the “Glu” family, is considered one of the most serious crimes through which the Turkish occupation tried to strike stability and spread fear among the people and prevent them from actively participating in processes of building and protecting society.
Dozens of incursions have been thwarted
Our forces used the right of legitimate defense to protect the population and the region where responded to the Turkish attacks within this framework, our forces were also able to repel and thwart dozens of incursions and attempts to advance by terrorists, as we renew our commitment to national and moral values to protect people and save lives by facing all attacks, whether by Turkey, ISIS or other parties, as well as continuing to liberate the occupied areas and expel the occupation.
During our struggle against Turkish attacks and pursuit of ISIS terrorist cells in 2021, 148 of our fighters rose to the rank of martyrdom.
The statement indicated that "the most of the Turkish crimes against NE Syria are not carried out for military purposes, but rather to pressure on population to pave the way for demographic change and division of Syrian territory, so we renew our call to the international parties, especially the guarantor countries, to implement their obligations to stop Turkish crimes and pressure them to withdraw from the occupied territories and return the displaced to their homes and lands.
We also call on international human rights organizations and institutions to form a neutral international committee to investigate the Turkish and its gangs' crimes against the people of the occupied areas, and bringing the perpetrators to court.
The statement stressed, "At the same time, we renew our pledge to our people with all its components, that our forces will protect it and prevent terrorist forces from reaching their goals in occupying the region and displacing the population ."
