Russian fighters shell ISIS positions in the Badia

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, SOHR, After midnight Thursday-Friday, Russian jets bombarded locations where ISIS mercenaries are hiding in the Rusafa desert, northeast of Raqqa, coinciding with operations launched by the Damascus government forces and non-Syrian groups two days ago in search of mercenary cells in the Syrian Badia.

The observatory indicated the day before yesterday that "Liwa al-Quds, al-Baqir Brigade, Fatemiyoun Group, Russian Wagner Forces, National Defense and Damascus government forces began a large-scale operation against ISIS mercenary cells in the Syrian Badia, in light of the escalating activity of mercenary cells in the recent period, starting from Al-Badia of Homs, Hama, Raqqa and Deir." Al-Zour, all the way to the southeastern part of Aleppo Governorate.

SOHR also indicated the day before yesterday, December 22, that Russian warplanes carried out about 13 air raids on ISIS 's positions in deserts of Al-Tabani in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and Al-Rasafa, northeast of Raqqa, for the second day in a row, with 25 air strikes the Russian forces targeted ISIS in the Badia of Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa during the last 24 hours.
