Sit-iners in Sêmalkayê: Southern Kurdistan people must rise up against the KDP

The activity of the sit-in tent initiated by the Martyrs' Families Council in Jazira region at the Sêmalkayê border crossing continues in its second month.

The protesters in Sêmalkayê called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party, KDP, to abandon treason, not to remain silent in front of the cries of mothers, and to hand over the bodies of the martyrs to their families. The protesters, through ANHA’s agency, expressed their indignation.

The administrator of the Democratic Union Party, PYD, in Qamishlo, Barvin Jamil, indicated that the activity of the sit-in tent will continue until it achieves its goal, and said: "We say here 'hand our martyrs over, we want to bury them here'. We will continue our struggle until we receive the bodies of our martyrs."

Barvin Jamil also appealed to the Kurdish people and said: "I call on all the honorable and loving Kurds to support this event. The KDP must abandon the alliance with the enemy. Enough. We are fighting for our rights like all peoples. We are fighting for our martyrs." As an elderly woman, I will wait here with my full will until I receive the bodies of the martyrs.”

For his part, the administrator of the Democratic Union Party in Qamishlo, Mohammad Khair Alika, explained: "The people of Southern Kurdistan must see the ongoing struggle here, and engage in the movement against the Kurdistan Democratic Party in order to hand over the bodies of the martyrs. The Peshmerga of the Kurdistan Democratic Party have become pawns of the Turkish state. And they must retreat through treachery. Many struggles in the history of the Kurdish people failed because of treachery. That is why we hope that these people will retreat through treachery."

Mohammad Khair Alika said, “I say to the KDP, ‘How long will you continue to betray? Today’s freedom fighters protect the whole of Kurdistan, they protect you and me too. When the enemy attacks, this KDP and this PKK do not say (that is, it does not distinguish between them) that it is The Kurds are attacking all. Don't forget Shengal and Hewler. Who defended them? The freedom fighters who defended'.

In her turn, member of the Democratic Union Party, Samia Khalil, stated that they will continue their activities until they receive the bodies of the martyrs.

Samia Khalil denounced the KDP’s silence about their activism and said: “I ask the KDP: How long will you be deceived by Erdogan’s tricks? Let Erdogan’s hand reach out to the Kurdish people, you should support the guerrilla that are resisting against the occupiers, but it supports Erdogan. We condemn this. We will continue our activities.” In the sit-in tent, even if it is cold or snow, and even if it is necessary to stay here for years. We are on the side of our fighters who are resisting against the occupiers and in the footsteps of our martyrs."
