TEV-DEM calls on OPCW to send fact- finding body to Medya Zones

In a statement released today to the public opinion Movement for a Democratic Society, TEV-DEM, called for a fact finding committee to the Medya Zones in Southern Kurdistan where Turkey uses chemical weapons against guerrilla fighters.

''in spite of all relevant international laws and conventions and calls made, the Turkish occupation state is adamant to use chemical weapons in its war against the Kurdish people of which the Guerrilla fighters and those of YJA-STAR with no deterrence.

The Turkish occupation army used chemical weapons in Afrin and Ser Kaniye randomly, effects left are still well seen and observed and proofs obtained but the international community is silent as well all organizations that prohibit chemicals weapons.

We call on our people, communal, ecological as well human rights associations to take part in the demonstration organized by KCDK-E in Holland today, to hold Turkey accountable for using chemical weapons against our people to get our voices heard to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons that holds its general meeting in the city of the Hague and to urge the body to put an end to proliferation and use of such weapons more specifically by the Turkish occupation state. 

At the end TEV-DEM called on the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to form and send a fact finding body to Southern Kurdistan where time and again these weapons were used by the Turkish occupation state against the guerrilla fighters.
