Matai Hanna: Fear of shelling Assyrian martyrs' shrine in rural Tal Tamr  

Amid increasingly escalation of Turkish occupation on Tal Tamr, which has been going on for three days, the Assyrian village of Tal Shanan, located east of Tal Tamr and close to the M4 international road towards Qamishlo city, has witnessed heavy shelling since yesterday morning, Wednesday, until the afternoon hours of Thursday.

The bombing caused great material damage to civilian property, in addition to the presence of the Assyrian martyrs' shrine in that village, which threatens to target the cemetery of the martyrs, similar to what they did against martyrs' shrines in Afrin city.

In this regard, the spokesperson of the Syriac Military Council, Matai Hanna, commented on the bombing targeting the villages of Tal Tamr, through a post on their official Facebook page, saying: “According to preliminary information, and through the continuation of violations on the front lines in general and Tal Tamr in particular, represented by the artillery targeting, which extended The villages of our Assyrian Syriac people are on the northern axis "Tel Kifji" and on the eastern axis "Tell Shanan", which threatens the sanctity of the shrine of our Assyrian fighters who sacrificed their lives in the campaigns to liberate all our regions from the terrorist organization

He explained, "This scene is not different from what the Turkish occupation forces committed against our brothers at martyrs' shrine of the People's and Women's Protection Units, who also sacrificed themselves to liberate us."

Hanna pointed out, "This comes in light of the absence of the guarantor states of the cease-fire agreements, which gives more scope for the Turkish occupation state to commit more violations that should be classified in the context of war crimes."

At the end of his speech, Hanna warned of the danger of these violations on the security and safety of our people and their presence on the holy land of Khabur, which must be victorious by supporting its forces that increase the will and determination to resist and stand against any danger that threatens its sanctities, thus proud of its Assyrian sons, along with all the components of the region in peace and security.
