Deputy Commander of AMC: Shelling affects civilians without mercy

Deputy Commander of the Al-Bab Military Council, Youssef Arema, confirmed that the goal of the Turkish occupation of the continuous bombing of the region is to expand its occupation and destabilize the region in addition to displacing the people.

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries have recently escalated their bombardment of populated villages in the liberated countryside of Bab al-Sharqi and the northern villages of Manbij, violating all international laws and norms.

During a special statement to our agency, Deputy Commander of the Al-Bab Military Council, Youssef Arima, commenting on the bombing, "the random bombing does not distinguish between stones and humans."

Regarding the villages that are daily targeted, Youssef pointed out that the villages most affected and subjected to continuous bombardment are (Qirt Wiran, Arima, Kawkli, Jub al-Hamra, al-Houta) from the Turkish bases stationed in the occupied areas of Syria, such as Sheikh Nasser base and Tal al-Hawa, which are 1 km from the positions of the Al-Bab Military Council forces.

The leader noted that the Turkish occupation uses, in its bombing of the area, heavy weapons such as mortars and heavy artillery, in addition to the use of medium weapons.

Concerning the damage to civilian property, Youssef Arima said that "the bombing targets civilians without mercy or relentlessness, as villages are targeted in the late night hours and early morning hours, with the aim of spreading fear and terror and claiming the lives of civilians."

He explained that civilians have left their lands that are located in the areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, and they cannot go there and harvest their crops, in addition to deliberately burning crops by mercenaries, as large areas of land planted with olive trees and pistachios were burned.

He pointed out that "the people, in turn, are seeking help from the Al-Bab Military Council's forces to protect them from mercenaries and the occupation."

He continued, "They are steadfast in their homes and in our role, in the military forces, protect them from any escalation or aggression."

The Deputy Commander of Al-Bab Military Council, Youssef Arima, ended his speech by saying, "We send a message to the people that we are military forces, following the footsteps of the martyrs, and we take it upon ourselves to protect our people and the city from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries."

The violations and bombardment of the Turkish occupation continue on the area. On the night of August 28-29, a 10-year-old child was seriously injured, as a result of the artillery and missile shelling of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, which targeted the village of Arab Hassan in the northwestern countryside of Manbij.
