Turkish gendarmerie beat two young men

Two young men and a minor from the countryside of Qamishlo city were severely beaten by the Turkish gendarmerie, while trying to cross the border strip separating the city of Qamishlo and the Bakur Kurdistan regions.

Turkish gendarmerie beat the young Ali Al-Saleh (32 years old), Thamer Mohammad (17 years old), and Mohammad Mohammad (30 years old) while they were trying to cross the border strip separating the city of Qamishlo and the areas of Bakur Kurdistan, on Tuesday, at approximately 07:30 evening.

Ali Al-Saleh told ANHA agency: "We left at about 07:30 in the evening from the village of Tel Ziwan, which is about thirteen kilometers from the city of Qamishlo, to the northeast on the borders of Bakur Kurdistan. There we were arrested at about 09:30 by the gendarmerie, who reached about 25 elements.

He continued, "Blows were hit on us from all sides from the moment we were arrested, not to mention insults and profanity."

According to Ali Al-Saleh, the Turkish gendarmerie threw them off the border wall at exactly 01:30 after midnight, after the young men refused to give in to their demands.

Regarding these demands, Al-Saleh said: "They demanded us to return to Syrian territory for a distance of about 100 meters, and to return again running towards the border, where the gendarmerie decided in the meantime to photograph us to fake the fact that we were beaten at their hands, and that the effects that appeared on our bodies hurt us as a result of the escape."
