The Turkish occupation state aims to end the existence of the free women’s movement wherever it is found by targeting it. In addition, the assassination of Politician Hevrin Khalaf at the hands of the occupation's mercenaries, the armed attack on the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Office, and the martyrdom of Member Deniz Poyraz are good example.

Gulikhan Taher, an administrator in the Kongra Star in Tel Tamr district said in this context, "The Turkish state always targets the women's movement to break and eliminate it."

She added, "Everyone realizes that our enemies target female politicians, as targeting politician Deniz was similar to targeting Hevrin Khalaf, and this indicates that Kurdish women have reached a stage in which they can organize themselves and have become the people's will."

Gulikhan continued, "The Turkish state signed an agreement with European countries in 2011 to preserve women's rights, but there are hundreds of women and politicians who have been tortured inside Turkey and in prisons as well. We remember what happened in 2014, and the martyrdom of "Sevi, Bakiza and Fatima" at the Turkish occupation state's hands."

She stressed, "The Turkish state tries by various means to break the women's movement by targeting Kurdish politicians. Turkey had to hold perpetrators accountable for all that happened and is happening against women, not protected them."

Statements of condemnation are not enough''

Gulikhan noted, "States and human rights and women's organizations issue statements condemning the Turkish occupation's attacks and violations, but these statements alone are not sufficient to stop its practices and crimes.".

Gulikhan ppealed to all the women of the world to head to the squares and denounce the assassination of Deniz and all the women who were killed by the Turkish state, and said, "Targeting Deniz is targeting of all women."
