Nora Sezgîn: People and women of Northern Kurdistan must take revenge for Deniz Poyraz

Member of the Ishtar Council Coordination in Mexmûr, Nora Sezgîn said that "the murder of Deniz Poyraz was carried out by the Turkish state, and called on women to organize themselves more in the attacks and revenge for Deniz."

On the 18th of this month, an armed attack was carried out on the office of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) in the Turkish city of Izmir, killing party member Deniz Poyraz.

About the incident, Member of the Ishtar Council Coordination in Mexmûr, Nora Sezgîn, talked to ANAH agency, saying: "It hurts us so much that a woman gets hurt somewhere."

"The assassination of Deniz Poyraz was not unusual for the governments of the AKP and the fascist Nationalist Movement and for Süleyman Soylu (Minister of the Interior) and Erdogan, and was carried out by them.

Nora noted that following Turkey's withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, attacks on women had increased: "The Justice and Development Parties and the Nationalist Movement can no longer afford the organization, movement and determination of women for freedom."

Nora called on the women to organize themselves, adding, "We can stop the killing of women, on the women of Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) and Turkey in taking revenge for Deniz."

Nora Sezgîn stressed that the people of Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) should protect women: "The Kurds and their friends in Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) must build a cycle of fire around the People's Democratic Party and protect its members. If we do not unite ourselves in front of these attacks, we will certainly be repeated, so we must not stand silent."
