Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the areas of north and east Syria have been subjected to violations by the Turkish occupation state, by following systematic policies aimed at breaking peoples' will, and recently it has sought to block the Euphrates River water.

In addition, the occupation systematically and openly targets women, especially in their areas of occupation, and female fighters and politicians to break their strength and determination after accomplishing achievements at all levels, such as (Hevrin Khalaf, Zahra Berkel, Habboun Mulla Khalil and the two Strugglers Hind and Saada).

The Turkish state has not respected the international conventions related to the protection of civilians during wars, and it is one of the parties to the Geneva Convention which was drafted in 1949 following violations witnessed in World War II (1939-1945).

In this regard, a number of women and administrators of women's committees in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor spoke to ANHA agency.

Maryam Al-Awad, Director of Health in Deir Ezzor, said that women were and still are subjected to violations of violence, especially during wars.

She continued, "After the Turkish army occupied the areas of Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, women were subjected to violations and inhumane practices at the hands of its mercenaries; kidnapping, rape, killing and imprisonment, in an effort to break their personality and keep them weak, and these abuses became clear amid the silence of human rights organizations.

Maryam Al-Awad condemned the attacks on women and indicated that these practices constitute a clear eradication plan against women.

In the end, Maryam Al-Awad appealed to human rights and women's organizations to intervene to stop Turkey's abuse of women and to prosecute perpetrators of violence against women in accordance with legal principles.

As for Khitam Heddou, Member of the Women's Committee in the People's Assembly in Hajin, she said that women built themselves and their struggle on the thought of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, so Turkey seeks in its plans to break its will.

She continued, "We have noticed Turkish violations on the ground in the areas of north and east Syria, as they have practiced all forms of violence against women, and they are still continuing their abuses, including imprisonment, beatings, killing and rape in their areas of occupation and against women fighters."

Water blockage can lead to environmental disaster

Zahra Al-Mulhim, Co-chair of the Eastern Region Council of Deir Ezzor condemned the Turkish violations and withholding of the Euphrates River and said, "Today we stand and protest against these practices and appeal to humanitarian organizations to stand against them."

In turn, Maryam Al-Hamid explained that Turkey is using a special war against the people of the region, according to which water could lead to an environmental disaster, and it also intends to strike the democratic project.

At the conclusion, Maryam Al-Hamid appealed to human rights organizations to pressure the Turkish government and its policy to stop these immoral attacks against the peoples of north and east Syria.
