Conference of Democratic Islam Society concluded

Today, the Conference of the Democratic Islamic Society in North and East Syria - Rojava, held its second conference, during which it discussed its work and activities during the past two years and its internal system, also elected a new administration, and concluded with a number of outputs.

Under the slogan "Spread peace for promoting human brotherhood and world peace", the Conference of the Democratic Islamic Society in North and East Syria - Rojava, held its second conference today in Qamishlo, with the participation of representatives of religious and civil institutions in North and eastern Syria, and the political parties in the Autonomous Administration.

Then the co-chair of the Islamic Democratic Society Conference, Dalal Khalil, delivered a speech in which she said: "We hope that the outcomes of this conference will fall into the service of the entire community so that we can confront the dark forces  and the extremist mentality, such as the Turkish occupation state that seeks to achieve its goals by adopting a political Islam that is far from the essence of true Islam.”

In turn, the co-chair of the Conference of the Democratic Islamic Society, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Gharzani, delivered a speech, and said: “This conference is being held at a time when war replaces peace, hatred replaces love, and conflict replaces cooperation, while we desperately need cohesion, righteousness and piety, so we must join hands. Spreading a culture of dialogue and love among all components, and consolidating stability in the region.

Al-Gharzani pointed out that: "The Conference bears part of the responsibility of exposing the traffickers in Islam and to restore spirit of Islam and the vision of its reform through its system and its moral and social justice."

While the conference included some statements by the leader Abdullah Ocalan, in which he explains the concept of democracy and how to link it to Islam and its true essence within his arguments by the lecturer at Rojava University Abdul Rahman Badrakhan.

This was followed by reading the report on the work and activities of the Conference during the past two years by a member of the religious establishment in Raqqa, Sheikh Ahmed Aroni, and then presented the most important achievements through a TV show.

Then, a member of the co-presidency of the Democratic Union Party, Fawza Yousef, said: "The establishment of the Islamic Democratic Society Conference in light of the misinformation against religion and true Islam is an important step to unmask the hypocrisy that exists under different names."

Youssef stressed, "The main reason for the conflicts in the Middle East and the Islamic world is the lack of a sound vision of religion and Islam, although it was previously a center of civilization, but with the emergence of extremism and fanatic thought, it turned into a barren desert in which only thorns grow."

She stressed the need to reveal the truth about the traffickers in Islam, as it is a necessary duty to save society from the existing backwardness, return Islam to its essence, and achieve a social and intellectual renaissance. On the contrary, it was flexible, accommodating every change in society and keeping pace with development.”

After that, a discussion was held, closed to the media, among the members of the conference about the work of the conference for the next two years, where every two years the Conference of the Democratic Islamic Society in North and East Syria - Rojava, was held, and the internal system was also discussed.

Then 25 members were appointed within the General Shura Council of the Islamic Democratic Society Conference, 9 deputies distributed over the regions of north and east Syria, 4 advisers to the joint presidency, and two co-chairs of the Islamic Democratic Society Conference in North and East Syria - Rojava.

For her part, Kongra Star's Coordination member in north and east Syria, Mona Youssef, touched on the importance of Islam in guiding society to the right path, the status granted to women in terms of preserving rights, and the need for equality between men and women.

Then the conference concluded with reading the outputs reached by the participants in the conference, which stipulated the opening of academies of democratic Islam in all regions of northern and eastern Syria, especially within the regions of the Euphrates region, training all members on the curriculum of democratic Islam, and strengthening relations with foreign institutions that are concerned with religious affairs. And how to activate the role of women more within the conference and develop it in cultural, political and social terms.
