The administration of Girê Spi Camp for the Displaced began constructing a third expansion of the camp at the beginning of November of last year, with the aim of receiving 500 displaced families who live in the cities of Raqqa and Tabqa and their countryside, due to the difficult living and financial conditions in those areas.

In this regard, the co-chair of the camp administration, Muhammad al-Sheikh, explained how to receive the displaced, saying: "Today we started with taking out families that we had entered earlier to the camp under the humanitarian clause."

The camp administration entered 85 families, which shared accommodation with other families due to their difficult living conditions, and the lack of shelter.

The Sheikh added, "There are 920 families registered in the administration's archive, and the rest of the families will be selected among them according to the most necessary."

It should be noted that the Girê Spî Camp, which was established by the Autonomous Administration on November 22, 2019 to receive the displaced from the Girê Spî canton and its countryside, is currently inhabited by 3,530 displaced persons, distributed among 720 families.
